Some pokemon can be creepier than you'd expect but the pokemon world is a really nice place to live in overall, or at least the original pokemon world before the ORAS and SM retcons was. Sure you aren't 100% safe from pokemon with creepy abilities all the time, but the fact that they have pokeballs, pokemon centers, storage system and tech like the one Cyrus uses to trap the lake trio indicates that technology can keep most non-legendary pokemon at bay.
