Simple links can be posted on 4chan, BTW, it's not recognized as spam unless it has a lot gibberish (the 69i57.21833j0j stuff you sometimes find in a long url). It doesn't really matter but it's good to know.

Actually there are some very specific filters. Sites that are deemed being click for cash get banned, as do some purely personal blog/self promotion sites. Certain competing chans are banned. As are sites that are classed as repeat violators for a variety of reasons.
Good rule of thumb is just try and post a URL, if it works it works, if it doesn't drop it and don't try again -- even posting it'd munged can get you banned for a while.
