I was there for that thread. Around the end, there's a post of him responding to someone making the suggestion of skinwalkers. He's responding to me suggesting he read up on the ACTUAL lore of them (which is more akin to wendigos) instead of the silly shit we get on /x/ about them.

Not a lot more happened after that. He honestly seemed pretty genuine about the whole thing, though. The series of questions about guns firing at the end there actually lead to some confusion, if I remember right. He wasn't sure who was shooting at whom.

Honestly, it lead me to believe that what actually happened was a bunch of hillbillies attacked their shack. Considering the general disgusting nature and inbreeding, that can be pretty much just as scary.

Last year around May or so, I was at a gas station early enough in the morning that it was still dark out. I was going to pick up my brother and go visit my dad in the hospital who was having surgery for a brain tumor that morning. (Not relevant to the story, except that I was already in a dark place mentally and emotionally. He would pass away in July.)
There was one other car at the station luckily, so it could have been creepier had I been completely alone there. Across the street from the station was a patch of woods. The small street corner wasn't lit, so you couldn't see past the line of trees. As I'm filling up my tank, I hear this blood-curdling scream coming from the woods. It was like nothing I'd ever heard before. It sounded at once like a man being murdered as well as a man in the act of murder. Terror and agony and rage all mixed into one. It lasted 5 to 10 seconds, but felt like minutes. There was silence for a moment, but then the scream started again. When it abated a second time, a man emerged from the woods in a hooded sweatshirt. This happened in FL, so it was way too warm for a hoodie, even at that time. I couldn't see his face, but he strode across the street straight toward the gas station. It was a slow, steady gait. My tank wasn't full, but I hung up the nozzle and noped the fuck out of there. I sped off just as he got to the station. I swore it looked like he was heading straight for me. I told my brother, but no one else.

According to my brother, at around 3am the same night someone tapped on every single door in the hall without anyone hearing any footsteps/squeaking floorboards, which are apparently quite loud in that hall.

Not necessarily paranormal, but it made me think. Probably just someone fucking about, but why you'd fuck about in a homeless person's hostel full of drug addicts at 3am is beyond me.

I see some weird shit in Arizona. I've got a place right on the edge of the desert down in the valley, and a really nice concrete cabin right on the edge of the forest in Flagstaff. One thing both have in common are coyotes. There are shitloads of coyotes that live right on the edges of civilization. They thrive there, scavenging and eating people's pets.

When I'm in the valley, I like to go on walks furing full moons. It's so bright outside that you can see almost perfectly, and the sun isn't beating you down constantly. This was one such night, and I decided to go out.

I followed the wash out to the canal, which has three trails next to it that extend out into the desert, and I decided to take the one that meanders out away from the canal into the wilderness proper. After a mile or so, the trail does a 90 degree turn when it meets the Indian reservation border. You're not supposed to go in there, but people do all the time.

The views were spectacular, nothing like seeing the red rock formations on the horizon with that pale moon glow to them. I wasn't liking the idea of taking my eyes off the scenery in order to navigate through the desert, so I stayed on the trail.

I could hear a pack of coyotes pretty close by, doing their crazy howling-yipping thing they do when they tear a cat apart or something. I didn't care. Coyotes are pussies, and they never attack humans. I kept walking, scanning the horizon for owls or something else interesting.

I look over the shoddy barbed wire fence that's a border to the reservation, and I see a pack of coyotes not two hundred feet away. There are lots of fairly deep dips in the trail so it makes sense that I didn't see them until now. I freeze to watch, and the moonlight illuminates things pretty clearly for me, in a colorless way.

I notice one of the coyotes seems way bigger than the other ones, more than that, it looks really fucked up and isn't moving properly. At first I think it's a dead dog or something and they're eating it, which made sense, the way they were all milling around in a circle around it. I stared with morbid curiosity as the coyotes seem to take turns looking back at me.

Then the thing stands up, which scared the shit out me, thinking it was dead. And even more because it stood onto its hind legs, and was at least five feet tall. As it raised its arms into the air, I realized that this was a person, or at least looked like one. He was wearing coyote pelts all over his body, and was carrying some darkly colored dead animal in one of his hands that that coyotes kept leaping and trying to get at as he raised it into the air.

I had no fucking idea what to do at that point. I knew coyotes weren't really dangerous, but this guy was obviously completely insane. He was inside the reservation, so I guessed he had to be a native doing some crazy goddamn Indian thing. I'd only been standing there a few seconds at this point, when he realized his coyotes were looking at something, and turned towards me.

The moonlight wasn't enough to make out his face, and it was shadowed by pelts anyway. He just stared at me for a second or two as the coyotes walked in circles around him, looking at him, then looking at me, then at him again. He turned away from me and bolted into the desert, sprinting and jumping and doing a nearly perfect coyote yipping noise, which started the rest of them doing it.

In the meantime I can tell you of some weird shit I saw in Flagstaff. There's a huge hill right behind my cabin out there I've named Deerhopper, and occasionally I try to climb it and stop halfway because I realize how hard it is to climb steep hills. One time I got to around the halfway point and stopped to take a rest and enjoy the view, and I swear to god I saw moving trees.

They were at least a mile away, and the cell phone I tried to take a video with a piece of shit, since this was almost a decade ago. I could only see the tops of them, as the rest of them were blocked by intervening trees. I couldn't think of any reason for them to be moving like that unless a trio of people had put trees standing straight up on the back of their trucks and decided to have drive through thick forest. And they would have to be pretty heavy duty trucks to support the weight of full grown pines.

I must have watched them for twenty minutes before hiking down for a drink and some dinner.
