Hey now, that's legitimately one of my favorite movies. The troll designs were solid, as were their execution. Plus if you took out the comedy aspect, you'd have a pretty dope horror flick.
>>
>>18490751
That movie actually scared the shit out of me when I was little.
>>
>>18490604
They Live is one of my favorite movies and I'm convinced that it's one of the greatest movies of all time; plus, it's more relevant than ever. Everything about it is a critique of our mass media and corporation controlled society.
>those in charge are so far removed from the rest of society that they might as well be aliens
>the powers that be squash any chance at rebellion
>only the disadvantaged can see society and those in control for what they really are
>glasses = the redpill
>the brainwashed actively deny seeing the world for what it is even when the opportunity is right in front of them

Literally perfect.
>>
>>18490964
me too! i remember seeing it in theaters and making my dad leave lol

>>
>>18491111

In 12th grade I did a presentation about how all the literature we read that year related to another piece of media (They Live). It's a corny fight scene, but it's better than most modern action. Especially since it actually symbolizes an internal conflict.

Best version either way. Arguable best horror movie.

Just shut the fuck up, for crying out loud. Your movie IQ is obviously too low to be commenting on a movie like this. Stick to VHS and Lake Mungo, or whatever you plebeians worship around here.

The Kettering Incident is a TV show that came out recently.

Far from perfect but definitely worth the ride.

It's X Files meets Top of the Lake.

The Banshee Chapter. Literally /x/ the movie.

Is Bobadook as good as some of the old stuff, or is it not just as shit as the new stuff.

I fucking love The Thing, watch it a couple times a year at least.

I just don't think there IS anything "like Twin Peaks", anon. David Lynch has made some crazy movies, but they don't have the warmth/humor of TP (in general, and take my opinion for what it's worth. I loved TP, but can't into/don't like Lynch films, though I appreciate them and his genius. Fire Walk with Me is the Twin Peaks movie, of course.)

Have you seen Carnivale? that old, really strange HBO show? I recommend that for you!

>They Live is one of my favorite movies and I'm convinced that it's one of the greatest movies of all time; plus, it's more relevant than ever. Everything about it is a critique of our mass media and corporation controlled society.

You guys will appreciate the opening of The Pervert's Guide to Ideology by Slavoj Žižek (Slovenian psychoanalytic philosopher, cultural critic, and Hegelian Marxist)

And his analysis of the reality/ideology goggles, and what the fight scene represents. I believe he likens it to Plato's allegory of the cave, iirc, been a while.

His lisp + accent and general pace of speaking (plus the sniffing) may take some getting used to (if you're new to Zisez, just saying).
