Devo has a song called "37".

I used to see 37 in a lot of things when I was a teen. I thought it was weird but never explored the meaning of it, though I used it as creative fuel for art stuff.

Not too far later in life I became weirdly fascinated with my own version of numerology, defining a specific meaning for each number. I might've been off my rocker by then, but if there's significance behind 37 I'd like to know. Things got weird/bad in life after I started seeing it, and I'm not certain I didn't have contact with something malicious as a very young kid (first memory). Perhaps a "curse," or whatever you wanna call it.

But trying to remain objective, it could be explained in non-/x/ terms. Those wouldn't be satisfactory answers, though, especially if I'm not the only one who notices 37.

I've been seeing 37 a lot, every day, since last October. I try to keep a positive meaning for it. At first it was 137 that kept appearing though, the fine structure constant... a very important number. Lately it's just been 37 on a much more regular basis, it's kind of crazy how I can't go an hour without it.

The full numerical value of the first verse of Creation: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” = 2701. 2701 = the sum of all numbers from 1 to 73 (i.e. the “triangle” of 73) = 37 times 73. The final phrase of the verse, “and the earth” = 703 = the sum of all numbers from 1 to 37 = 19 times 37.
