What can /x/ tell me about the fae folk? How does one meet/interact with them? Where can you find them?
>>
>>18455504
get a life kid
>>
>>18455504

You don't.

Why do idiots insist on calling on things they don't understand?
>>
>>18455560
How do you understand them?

I saw one once. Don't ask me to describe it because I've described it many time on this board. However I was the only one who saw it. I was talking with my mom and it just appeared and flew across my room over about 30 seconds before disappearing. My mom didn't see it at all.
>>
From what I've gathered, fae folk hang out away from heavily populated areas. They're nature-dwelling folk. Look for fairy rings and unusually lush areas with a magical feel. There's a dumping ground near my house in the mountains that I think may have faes around it somewhere.
>>
>>18455884
>Don't ask me to describe it because I've described it many time on this board.

Then you shouldn't have any problems describing it to us, anon.

Did it look like an orb an light? Little balls of energy? Because I've seen those guys floating around a couple of times.
>>
>>18455504
didnt they all get hunted to extinction because kings and shit thought they would live forever if they ate them?
>>
>>18456002
Naw it was a floating human looking thing about 6-8 inches tall that glowed. Like a very pretty, androgynous, flat chested female.
>>
>>18456016
No that's pigs
>>
>>18456002

Those sound like ghosts more than fae.
>>

They have a strange sense of human, and get offended easily because of reasons we do not understand. That is because they are not human.

You should not look for contact with them. If that happens by chance, then be respectful, do not try to cheat them or steal their items because they can read your mind.

As every rule must come with fine print, here is something else you should know: never drink or eat stuff they offer to you, even if they get angry. The reason is that you would be trapped with them where they live, and you would never return.

There is also lots of things they do not like, from things that apply to all of them, like objects containing iron, to specifics which vary for each one of them.

TL;DR avoid them.

If you still want more info on them, there is a list of books you can get here:

I made that compilation myself, in a reply to that thread. I often link the books here, but sometimes, like today when I'm only with my phone, I just link the reddit post. It's easier and the link stays up, unlike 4chan posts. I could, sure, link 4plebs, but *effort*.
>>
>>18456601

Thanks for the book recommendations- I definitely have to check them out.
>>
Go deep into the forest and other places untouched by man with an innocent heart -- without the malicious and anthropocentric mind that polutes humanity, as that of a child -- and ask for a congress with them. Always be sincere and absolutely respectful.

To the more benevolent ones that are close to us, you may make an offer of bread or cream made by yourself and a cup of water. But be advised, those who live in truly wild places or who had their lairs corrupted by man, generally have a misanthropic disposition and blood (human blood) may be required.

>>18458070

Also, abstention from violence and a vegetarian diet is recommended. Although killing for food is a quite natural act, the way we mass produce meat nowadays is disrespectful toward the natural laws and unempatically to life. In the best case scenario, you won't achieve anything with the fair folk if you mistreat other living beings (this including insects and other forms of life we tend to judge as insignificant), in the worst, you may end up as a sacrifice.

You may chant the name "Pandelara".

Go to the wild places, find a place that feels comfortable. Don't take desire or greed in with you, bring your curiosity and leave your heart open. Wait until you can feel them listening and speak with them, about yourself, the land. leave a gift when you sleep or go. If they want to make themselves known they will.

>>18459078
This advice is given toward people who might be tempted to bring something back to prove their existence, or to use one of their magical items without permission to do so.

In folklore accounts that never ends well. You have been warned.
>>
>>18459112
Offers of milk, honey, and bread are just fine.

It won't be physically taken, but the fays will get whatever they need from the food.

Leave the food in a clean plate. There should be no iron objects nor running water near the place you leave the offer. Repetition would demonstrate more commitment.
>>
>>18459129
It may work. Focusing on your intent while singing will yield better results.
>>
>>18458100
I am not sure about this, but I seem to remember that Orion Foxwood said in Tree of Enchantment, a magic system to work with fays, that one should not pick up flowers as well.
>>
>>18459129

Probably, but for what exactly are you grateful? Are you sure you aren't just projecting your own fantasizing vision over them, instead of truly recognizing what they are? Faeries are really wonderful creatures, but their nature is often obscured to us.

Don't ever say you love something you don't know. These words carry power and are weakened when they aren't true. Also, there are all kinds of fairies and some won't do you any good to you -- quite the contrary, actually.

>>18455504
I've had a strange experience with them in the past; and (unsure if they can change their appearance or if they're just very similar to humans) they look just like us almost - though none of them were "fat". I met them as a complete accident (can't disclose where I live, but it's near a mountain range in the US).

They may also reside in our "realm/existence", but also have their own little "pocket locations". I don't really know how to explain it, but there was a location in a place I normally pass by every day that two of them showed to me (and it doesn't exist, if I were to go there on my own).

We just discussed various things about ideals and life, almost like if you were to have a conversation with an elderly person. Also, they DO have some of our technology (I think they may have an interest in using/collecting some of our things). I wasn't offered food, but I was invited into a home and it looks almost like your average home in the 90s (it wasn't the latest technology that they had).

There were actually a few vehicles as well that they had. They might be another form of existence/being, but they aren't too different from us in many ways. I guess like anything else, they're changing with the rest of the world (just at a slower pace).

Aside from the one time I was never able to find them or contact them again. I've only ever told anyone about this once because I don't want to seem like a fucking nutjob. Assuming it was fae I met and not some other being, they're interesting and do not seem to age beyond a certain point (either that or they age extremely slowly in comparison to us). I did not see a single one that actually looked like what we would consider old.

I can't really answer any questions because I was only there for a short amount of time, but it was an experience I'll never forget.
>>
>>18459461

They are caretakers of nature, and I love nature. You can love a powerful and dangerous creature for its beauty, and there are many forms of love.

I'm not trying to project a fantasy upon them, I only understand that they care for the earth and for the wild places of this world and I cherish those places as someone who spent much of one's life in nature. I love them because I love all things without inherently malicious intent and because I love the nature of which they are a part.

I don't wish to interfere with them, and I would not go petting a great white shark nor a mountain lion in spite of my admiration for their power and beauty.

I only feel that they must be enraged at the destruction wrought by man upon the wild places and for that I am sorry. Every day I try to reduce my own pain inflicted upon the land and pay reverence to the natural splendor.

I'm not looking to get some fae friends, I just want to perhaps impart some measure of compassion upon them as I would anything not inherently maligned. Love is a complicated word. My place is not to interfere and my home is not with them. But you can send cakes to your neighbors even if they do not send cakes to you.
>>
Would they come if I carried a knife with me made out of steel?
>>
>>18459728

I think they would be angered for spoiling the iron of the mountain. But I am perhaps not the one to ask because I am speaking only to my intuition.

I will make a much longer post in a couple of hours, explaining a number of things, when I arrive at home from commute and I will be able to access my references. Typing on a cellphone is also awful.

Normally you perceive them through a illusion they project into your mind, based on information they read from it. The illusion always have a flaw, most often wrong size.

Also there is often an uncanny atmosphere when you meet them. And they are prone to be met in certain places.

People who are familiar with the UFO scene will recognize the "Oz Factor" and "Window" concepts in the paragraph above. Yes, often UFOs are the fays playing their tricks. People expect aliens and get aliens. "What you believe is what you see." In America people see grays, in Japan they see shapeshifting foxes.

Like I said, I will post more details when I arrive at home. For now, this reply will suffice, and it is way better than a simple bump. Stay tuned.
>>
>>18459461

Thank you for your guidance. Am I to presume there exist malevolent fae as well as neutral?
>>
New age people think they're benevolent. Every folk tale about them say otherwise.
A good 90% of recorded interaction between humans and things from the other place end up with the human injured, taken, or killed. This might reflect our xenophobia, but it also might reflect the danger these things pose.

Steel or any alloy with iron is likely to scare away anything fae.

Most fae are better off being scared away rather than spoken to anyhow.

They are unpredictable.

If you insist on trying to make a visit or some kind of offering to the fae, I would suggest saving up and traveling to a place where the locals have longstanding agreements with the face.

There are such places in Ireland and Iceland for sure, and other places.

I'm at home. Horrible Engrish will follow. It is not my first language.

I sat in front of my computer, after I have been thinking while I was in the bus about the task in front of me. Everything is important, but when providing a short explanation there is the crucial decision of basically deciding what you will leave out. So I decided to post some info on how to use the books in my small library on Reddit that I linked in >>18456601.

There are three important books there:
* Monsters by John Michael Greer;
* Daimonic Reality by Patrick Harpur;
* Encyclopedia of Fairies by Katharine Mary Briggs.

The approach to fairies on each book is very different.

The Encyclopedia was made by a folklorist who was agnostic about the subject. It is a collection of subjects related to fairies, taken from accounts of people who encountered them. Very useful to know the dos and don'ts when dealing with them. Instructions on how to use it can be found in the preface.

Daimonic Reality describes several types of supernatural beings using an approach that involves concepts from several sources, including Jungian ideas. For people with a background in psychology it would be a good place to start.

Monsters is my favorite book. It was written by a guy who practices ritual magic. The book defines categories of monsters based on the concepts found in Western magic tradition. You will find here an explanation of the inner workings of the critters. For example, why fairies are affected by iron and running water. Other monsters are discussed as well. And in the end, there is an Annotated Bibliography, extremely useful if you want to follow a monster type in more detail.

The Reddit post is actually a subset of my personal pet project: to collect all the books in the Monsters bibliography and post them online. You will find more of them at this link:

https://mega.nz/#F!J4pEhCzQ!MHa8PibmqRA7TpbGzT7kGQ

I am buying the missing books. In Jan 10 I will upload some more on the MEGA.

I know a man who not only witnessed what he was told was an "elf" but he also has a clear photograph of it, and had permission to do so by the elderly man who was capable of summoning one, the elderly mans gift came about by accident, but he did give my friend a list of things to do before he had the meet up with the man that would allow the elf like creatures to feel comfortable meeting him, for 3 weeks he was not allowed to eat any meat (he was already a vegetarian) (the reasoning was that they will smell the meat on your breath and become scared that you are something that may eat them) he also had to interact with 3 dif. Animals every day, as well as come in contact with at least 3 dif. Plants, apart from that the only other thing Im aware that he had to do was wake up early in the morning every day and let the sunshine upon his face. There is more to the list, but the photo and the full list have not been released yet.

Not the Norwegian trolls at least. They are almost universally malevolent, can smell the blood of christians, can be mistaken for hills when they sleep and turn to stone when caught out in the sun.

Closest we have to fairies are probably vetter which are universally small and while typically not malevolent, their tricks can cause harm. There aren't really any similarities.

They are best not sought out and ultimately they do not want to be sought out. They are not human and do not think like a human. They can be easily offended and the result of the offensive could cost you your life or leave you cursed.
You can find them in many places, but mostly in the most remote parts of the world.
While it would be fascinating to talk to one, it's not worth it.
>>
>>18469734
I think only their equivalent of /b/tards is willing to talk to humans. Given the folklore accounts, this actually might be true.
* trolls who don't like to be trolled and get triggered with ease
* seeking sex with strange beings from other dimension
Am I missing something here?

Just wow guys
There were maybe two or three half accurate posts.
Fae are not good.
Fae are not evil.
It depends on the fae, like a human, though they are alien to us.
Buddy of mined shared meat stew with an elf, vegetarianism is retarded and not required at all.
The more evolved/powerful fae can take material form.
Powerful fae exist like humans, both in spirit and body, however fae are not hampered by common human perception of only the material.
Unlike the gods that were barred from taking form in the flesh powerful fae still can.
Oh and shadow people are their enforcers/bodyguards.

Let's see.

>>18471357
>Fae are not good.
>Fae are not evil.
>It depends on the fae, like a human, >though they are alien to us.
Yes, the alien part is the problem. It depends on the individual, sure. But contact is not worth the risk. Your mileage may vary, of course. There are folklore accounts of people who had long relationships with fairies. But even in these cases, the norm was to keep a respectful distance.

>Buddy of mined shared meat stew with an elf
Your buddy violated the One Rule that he shouldn't do. Fairy food and drinks can trap one in their realm. Lucky person. Do not accept candy from strangers. Unless your friend cooked the stew, of course.

>vegetarianism is retarded and not required at all.
As far as I know, yes, vegetarianism is not required.

>The more evolved/powerful fae can take material form
>Unlike the gods that were barred from taking form in the flesh powerful fae still can.
Very concentrated ether, the "matter" fays are made of, blocks light as in, you can see it. And it can leave footprints in the mud.
Fays can also possess people. But this is not taking material form. I'm not calling this one exactly incorrect, for practical purposes it is just nitpicking.

>fae are not hampered by common human perception of only the material.
This one will require another post, it won't fit in this one.

Well, why not? It could be.

Western magic theory states there are what it calls "levels of perception." These exist in a kind of spectrum, so to say. The "quality" that varies and distinguishes them is ranging from spirit to matter.

Hermetic/Cabala tradition states there are five (plus one) levels: spiritual, mental, astral, etheric, and physical. The sixth one could be called "Qlippoth," a word that means "shell" or "husk". This one is interesting, I will talk a bit more about it later. Not now, because it does not concern fays.

Normally, beings have their consciousness focused in the "lower" level where they exist (the more "material" of these), and they exist in all the "upper" levels as well (there is an important exception to this statement. More on that later).

Fays are etheric beings, where their consciousness is normally focused. They do not exist in our material level.

This "ether" (not the class of organic compounds; the word was borrowed from 19th century physics, and it doesn't mean exactly the same thing, the same way for biologists spiders are not insects, they are grouped inside their own division, arachnids) is a bit less material than ordinary matter. It works as a fluid, that can be concentrated or dispersed. You will find references to the "ocean of ether" in magical literature.

Very concentrated ether provides the patterns along which physical matter and energy take shape. So, fays can perceive the objects and beings in our world, but in an indirect way, because the actual particles of matter are invisible to them, and they cross them freely. Certain stuff are toxic to them, like iron and running water, but that is because of the dispersive (as in solvent. Think acid) effect the etheric aspect of these materials have. The ether is what is poisonous to them, the molecules of iron and water do not interact with them.

In their level, there are beings that don't exist here. It has its own ecology, with predators, scavengers, and such. Fays occupy roughly the same position we do here. It would perhaps be better to say primates, because not all are that smart.

Fays themselves look like balls or ovoids. We roughly look to them like we do here, but with an additional aspect: an external layer that extends from two inches to about two feet around us, composed of several layers and with the same ovoid aspect as them. Yes, this is what is known as aura. An invasion of personal space occurs when the auras of two persons are touching.

Humans can perceive the etheric too. Some are naturally better than others. Almost everyone, in principle, can get better with "training", part of ritual magic traditions. If you want to "see" the fays as they really look in their own level, this is the way to go.

Emotional states are reflected in aura. When humans look at aura, they perceive these states as different colors. Any fay, through this, can have a good idea of what is going on in the mind of a person this way. A natural, automatic, passive form of telepathy.

Though they have other abilities. They can read and project things in what magicians call Sphere of Perception. Our memory and senses, so to speak. This is how they normally appear to people. A kind of illusion, drawn from our memory, because *they can't perceive the physical level directly*. Colors, for example, would be wrong. Given the somewhat clumsy nature of this method, there are often (always?) flaws in the illusion, if you pay attention. Access of the Sphere induces a different state of consciousness in humans. The environment gets an uncanny, dreamlike atmosphere, which ufologists call "Oz Factor."

Fays can also link with humans in the astral level. So, yes, they "are not hampered by common human perception of only the material," but they can't actually perceive matter directly. Again, I'm just kind of nitpicking.

Now, the Qlippoth. It would be arrogant to think we are at just the end of the scale. There is a level below the physical, more "material", so to say. Where demons dwell, the Kingdom of Shells.

Cabala tradition states that demons are survivors of a prior universe (call it creation if you want) that was unstable and no longer exists.

Demons have an interesting characteristic. They are not continuous. They do not exist in the physical and etheric levels, skipping them (side note: if they can see us normally, we possibly appear to them much like as ghosts do to us)

However, demons also exist in the astral level. This is where they connect to humans. Reading descriptions of it from people who are trained to perceive the astral is not pretty. Imagine a... something connected to the back of your neck. Something awful.

This ends today's magic theory lesson. If I can find spare time to do so, and this thread is still alive, I might post something on the different forms fays appeared through history. Floating ships, airships, extraterrestrials. These are difficult to find in the book selection in the Reddit post, that is more directly focused on fays.

The longish posts I made are based on info from the books I linked. Maybe I should use a tripcode when replying in fae threads.
