I am scared when there is an immediate threat of danger, dread, or humiliation.

Surprisingly its not when something is there that I'm scared the most, its when I suspect that something is. Thats why I have whatever that phobia of the open ocean is called. I've had real moments of fear in my life where there was something to be afraid of but I've only been truly shook up when I feel so strongly that there is something there but I can't see it or know where it is.
