I know a guy who does Chaos Magick and a guy who venerates Shiva, one gets way more done than the other and I'll give you a hint who.
>>
>>18449699

Shiva is not Kali you idiot.

Learn your Vedic Timelines.

Kali was just a demon summoned by Suras (gods) to battlefield at some battles to fight Asuras (anti-gods). It is more complicated and deeper than that, but they are totally different entities.

Shiva is just an aspect of Trimurti, or Brahm-Vishnu-Shiva, the (Creator)-(Moderator/Keeper)-(Destroyer).

Shiva is also EXTREMELY humanitarian and the most empathic of all gods, it could be argued (from his actual actions).

He's a Hunter, a symbolic Man (overtly masculine), and an incarnation of creative entropy.
>>
>>18450320
I don't understand the 'hint' (photo?)
Sorry, friend.
>>
>>18449999
They are my patrons. It is my belief there are countless gods, and I honor many of them, but I venerate those two above all others. Besides them, there is the one I call by the name Santisima Muerte. Obviously well known, to me she is the only entity I associate with death and death alone. As an aside, I worship no demiurge. I believe that creation sprung from something akin to a Chaotic Force; an incomprehensibly powerful and impersonal force that cannot be known and cannot be placated or petitioned.

If anyone is interested, I would love to discuss more.

Top stuff 80, go tell people in Bengal they worship a demon.

Kali is an aspect of Durga, which is an aspect of Paravarti who is Shiva's Sakti. All Gods and Goddesses fold into the Trimurti, which folds into Brahman.

Kali is the vital feminine half to Shiva's destruction force, She is Time.

Nice try whipping your dick out though bro.

>>18450381
I know who you are. That is irrelevant.

I wouldn't change my ability to "get things done" if I began blinding believing in a deity.

>>18450407
My apologizes, I thought you would catch it from my original post, but I see how that's obscure.

Faith is not blind, it's a flame that flickers on and off. You yourself will have to have faith in your ability to do Magick, if that is what you choose.

I never argue for the proliferation of my own beliefs unless someone is discussing magic, because I believe their rules and rituals to be very very extensive and through while still being responsible.

Any other time spirituality comes up, I push that person to discover their own faith and personal god.

I ask you to consider the idea of God as a whole, the abstract concept of a presiding diety who sees more, knows more, and does more than you believe you can.

Are you averse to the title of Agnostic?

My practice leaves things very open. Terms like "Traditional" are too constricting to me. I keep away from Abrahamic deities or figures (yes, I realize Santisima Muerte came from folk Catholic practice, but I only use the name because I see death as a woman, an ultimately feminine force; there could be other names to use, of course, but I love that particular image of Her).
One of the best things for a person like me to have is a book of practice. Kind of like a personal grimoire (much like the "black books" of Scandinavia). I used to use the term Book of Shadows, but its associations with Wicca (and the fact that I most certainly do not consider myself a Wiccan by any means) made me kinda drop that habit. I refer to my book by a unique name that I will not post here. It's a name that I came upon by a long period of personal reflection. Giving my book a unique name is an idea that came to me from reading about the personal books of practice from practitioners in the past. The book "The Devil's Plantation" comes to mind. It was a book that belonged to a witch that lived in a certain region of England. The book was never found, which leads many to believe that it was either buried with her or destroyed upon her death. The publisher Troy Books published a book by the same name, but it has no real associations with the 'legendary book' itself.
A book of practice is an indispensable tool that will allow a practitioner to record everything they develop or come across that they feel they could potentially use. I wanted to make my own, but since I don’t possess the skill, and since I was too lazy to learn it (haha), I had one made. One thousand pages in length, bound in black leather. It’s overly romantic, but it’s served me for many years.
>>
>>18450368
>>18450359
(2/2)
On the topic of patron deities, Hecate and Kernunnos have always appealed to me on a deeply primal level and I have had many powerful experiences while communing with them. Obviously, since they are gods, the personal aspect of a relationship with them can only go so far, but connections can definitely be made, if one is willing to work at it. They’ve never asked me for anything exorbitant in sacrifice, and have never made unseemly requests of me. Through my connections with them, I have made many more connections with spiritual allies that have served me well during my practice. Through them, my eyes have been opened to a world that I never knew existed.
The practice that I use isn’t really found in any book, and it’s something I developed through years of study and work. It’s very highly personal, as should all forms of witchcraft be. Develop your own methods, find your own way, and grow. That’s basically it.
>>
>>18450434
I am. I consider myself to be an atheist. My upbringing did not permit me to believe in the traditional concept of 'God' that many of us are taught during childhood.

I think IF a 'God' existed, it would be a 4th dimensional being.
>>
>>18450464
4D or higher*, oops.
>>
eris.
>>
>>18450464
I completely understand, I was Atheist for a long time as well.

I grew up traditional Catholic, rejected it when I considered the obvious cruelty of God, and spent a lot of time pissed off in general.

Then Hinduism found me.

You have to understand, in my belief system our universe is an illusion, which in very literal truth it is so far as we rely on primitive sense organs to navigate the world.

Blue, A#, Sour, these are all things that have no meaning outside of human perception.

In my faith, God is everything and everyone, you, me, dead children, and Tom Cruise. It's less of a "Worship this Idol" and more of a philosophy.

Once again, I'm not trying to convert you. Simply explain my particular point of view.
>>
>>18450465
How is that different from normal belief?

It's variant of "God it's out there somewhere".
>>
>>18450486
Sure. It became more of a realization for me in my late teen years. I think I may have 'given up' on believing. Simply makes no sense. Later on, I grew more into empiricism (even though I'm very open toward believing, or more appropriately, giving the benefit of the doubt regarding many paranormal topics).

I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of the universe being a simulation. I have a very smart friend who says that if so, we could be one of infinite simulations, which sure is wonderful to think about.

>>18450493
Because I don't believe in any god. If 4D beings exist, I do not believe we could ever interact with them but they would strongly fit the criterion required to be considered a god. All I'm saying is that if a traditional 'God' existed, it would need to be 4D or higher.
>>
I unironically believe in Kek.

Shadilay.
>>
>>18450511
He's absolutely correct and to me, it is mostly irrelevant whether or not the Gods actually exist. I've been given visions during meditation and heard them speak and if it was proven that this is a material realm where nothing matters, I would mostly stay unchanged.

My thought process was this, if the Universe is not Truth, it does not make it not Real in the same way the city of Los Santos in GTA is Real, but no matter what scientists study or what priests pray to in GTA it doesn't fucking matter.

Every now and again, I consider the choice that our multi-cellar forefathers made when the evolution of the eye began. It was a simple light sensing organ, knew only dark and light. That was the first dichotomy Life knew. The organisms that chose Dark lived to pass on eyes. The ones that went to the light fried in the UV rays.

Ultimately, you're here on x] the place where doubt thrives. No one here is truly faithful, but everyone seeks it.

If you know about Chaos Magick, you know how to start doing it. No doubt the scientific approach to metaphysics appealed to you, but why post here in the thread about Gods if you weren't somewhat intrigued?

I've always felt a connection to Apollo, ever since I learned about him in high school. Being a god of light, healing, truth and music, I think he's a good role model.
As for Aphrodite, looking back on life I mistreated women, so I think she began punishing me for the way I acted. I want to better understand women by building a positive rapport with her.
I've also had times in my life where I was connected to Artemis.
It's funny because I don't really like most Roman gods, except for possibly Minerva but I question her intentions, and most other religions aren't very satisfying for me.

Bs 5.1 — Kṛṣṇa who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes.
>Bs 5.32 — I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane.
>Bs 5.33 — I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is inaccessible to the Vedas, but obtainable by pure unalloyed devotion of the soul, who is without a second, who is not subject to decay, is without a beginning, whose form is endless, who is the beginning, and the eternal puruṣa; yet He is a person possessing the beauty of blooming youth.
>Bs 5.34 — I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, only the tip of the toe of whose lotus feet is approached by the yogīs who aspire after the transcendental and betake themselves to prāṇāyāma by drilling the respiration; or by the jñānīs who try to find out the nondifferentiated Brahman by the process of elimination of the mundane, extending over thousands of millions of years.
