I'll tell you the Voynich Manuscript is almost as annoying and pointless as Elisa Lam.

the plants in it are either extinct and never existed, and the language is none known. Maybe someone was just being imaginative.

Secret society of wizards contacted aliens, traveled with them to another planet rich in flora/fauna, then documented it all in a code that nobody else could read.

maybe it's not a code at all, but the actual written language of the aliens.
>>
>>18424688
I feel like since it's a manuscript on parchment it's more likely that it was written by humans, and thus probably not in an alien language.

But who knows for sure.
>>
>>18424694
they were probably high on alien drugs and recieving telepathic knowledge of their language.

Two theories I've come across that could actually be real.

1) It was written by humans long ago in a language that's now forgotten. (Still doesn't explain the weird drawings, but whatever.)

2) Traveling ayyylmao's accidentally dropped it.

The thing that has always fascinated me about the voynich manuscript it's that it has language pointers, so it's not like the author was smashing the figurative keyboard, and the ductum of the script means that it was written in one smooth motion which means the author had practice in writing in this alphabet; it also predates most complicated ciphers so it probably isn't one.
>>
>>18425913
just speculation... but could the author have invented the language themselves? i.e. they live alone and recorded what they learned in life.

would explain astrological and animal diagrams as well
>>
>>18425931
I mean it could be, I'm just repeating what I've read and what scientists (roughly) agree with, whatever the truth may be, it really is a historical anomaly.

Also when I wrote ductum I meant ductus.
>>
The Voynich is strange, but I finde the codex Seraphanianus way more disturbing because of the art. Anyone interested in Voynich may also need to study up on the Codex because it is also strange and indecipherable. Because only partial and incomplete ciphers have been attempted and stopped not much is known of either. Yet The Codex is newer so more information exists.
>>
>>18427368
Codex is just an art piece. Love it to death though.

I always figured it was just some dude who was bored a long time ago, scribbling a bunch of nonsense or practicing his handwriting.
Notice how a lot of the loops and sworls and shit look the same. I did the same in elementary school when I was practicing cursive writing, just jumbling up a bunch of gibberish because it looked nice.
>>
>>18424468

Its just a log of trip psychedelic trips. A catalog of herbs that will blast open your third eye.

The other writings and illustrations contain the code that is embedded in the universe.
>>
The oera linda is another interesting old book.
>>
I personally think we fail to decipher it because it isn't encoded. Just like Tolkien made a language for the elves in lord of the rings, the author of the manuscript could have created their own language.
>>
>>18427439
That is a fair assessment. Voynich does seem more like an actual coded textbook into the esoteric.
>>
>>18427490
plus with all the prevalent languages at the time, who knows what the root language was if the person decided to spring board off of an existing language he knew.
>>
>>18424468
I am believing that it's the work of a young Leonardo DaVinci until I have proof otherwise.

I deciphered the text a long time ago. It's just a boring book written by a wannabe da vinci
>>
>>18427573
It's not. I have proof but I am not going to share it.
>>
>>18424468
It's a copy of an even more ancient manuscript made by a scribe who found it in the 15th century.
Unfortunately the scribe may not have understood the language neither thus it was never translated.
And I'm sure if it WAS there'd be some kind of heresy that the scribe would burn the script for, just like a lot of preserved ancient texts back in the day.
