I first started learning about chakra and meditation stuff in the spring of 2013. My then best friend introduced me to a bunch of /x/-tier new age stuff (she had a life-changing paranormal experience involving ayys and starseeds and stuff,won't get into it too much here). I got really into it for a while and then my interest kinda faded away... For reasons... All in all, however, you could say I neither believe nor disbelieve that stuff. I usually take on an agnostic sort of attitude of anything on here--the way I see it, whether it turns out to be real or not, it's fun and I enjoy learning about it.

Unrelated to that phase, I've recently taken up mindfulness meditation. I'm just doing the short version at the moment, the 3-minute breathing space, but I've been doing them at least once a day. I really do think that being consistent is more important than the duration. I'm really into Jon Kabat-Zinn right now, I think he's a genius and all around seems like a wonderful and loving person. But the thing is--and I wanted to point this out to the anons asking about meditation in the last thread before it got archived--meditation has benefits beyond helping you "lol summon a demon waifu". To me, the benefits pertaining to non-paranormal stuff are more of an incentive, as much as I would love to acquire the ability to do spooky shit as well as a secondary effect. I think due to my sexual frustration and constantly thinking about wanting someone to lie next to me that I'm being haunted by an incubus. It shows up when I'm trying to sleep and it's pretty spooky. After the encounters started but before I could hear her, I began researching Chaos Magic as that was what my friends studied. It also seemed to fit closest to my sensibilities. She approves of this, though she urges me not to go very far until I'm better at meditation and visualization. Other than some suggestions and basic info, she hasn't really seemed to be pushing me towards any one path.
