Does anybody recognize this symbol/design on my ring? I bought it from an antique shop, it's not marked but I'm pretty sure it's silver as it was tarnished like silver gets when I bought it. An Indian lady at a gas station noticed it and told me it was an "Indian God". Idk if this is the right place to post so apologies if this thread is unfit. I know people here have a broad knowledge of symbols and such.
It's a Hamsa. Usually this is represented by a hand, but the bird(your ring is a bird) also sometimes represents it. The hand symbol is more about protection from bad stuff, while the bird is much less common and is more of just like...acknowledging that the gods exist.
Hamsa is an envoy between Brahman(both a god and life/time itself) and humans.
Nothing special really. Old ladies in India would wear this.

Thanks for the info. I still havnt found a similar symbol. It must've been an individual's design they had made. The worn, mystical look kind of drew me to it. I hope I don't look like a faggot haha
