Hi, my mom received some wooden vase from a friend who cleans old houses or something like that. She didn't want it at first, but in the end she took it. Now it's sitting at home and my mom (who is a bit of esoteric or something like that) claims she feels something bad from that vase. I'm a realist, I told her (for my entertainment) to use pendulum she uses for checking "zones" or something. We found a spot without a zone, where pendulum was completly still and I put vase underneath. Pendulum started swinging. So is there any way to check if it's curse or possessed by ghost or something? It's just a normal wooden vase made from 3 different kinds of wood and on top it's sealed with something that looks like plastic container for graveyard candles. I'm thinking about smashing it open before we get rid of it. Any ideas?

Maybe it's really an urn and has someone's ashes hidden in it.
Other than that, I think getting rid of it is a good idea. Keeping something around that's causing a bad feeling is just dumb. Even if she's only imagining it, it will affect her psyche in a bad way. That would spread trouble to the rest of you.
Try calling a priest/exorcist or have the object blessed I'm not an expert but that's what they usually do.

well if it is an urn (although I don't hear any movement inside when I shake it), we feel bad to just ditch it in a dumpster

give yourself a lobotomy with a shard of it after you break it. youre not using your brain anyway
