>most exciting cryptid is the boring-ass thunderbird

Why can't we have anything cool like the Pope Lick monster or the Jersey Devil?

dude us new yorkers have a fucking knock-off nessie as ours, don't feel bad, atleast yours is somewhat unique
>>
>>18380701
Why is the jersey devil espescially so interresting? I was fascinated from the beginning when i first found out about this thing. I guess it's the supernatural aspect and it's weirdly spooky appearance. It just looks like a literal "Night-mare" if you know what i mean.
>>
>>18382394
Plus, there have been weid sightings and happenings, and don't forget it's habitat; the Pine Barrens, which is a spooky place and even the name "Pine Barrens" gives a mystical sounding description.

>every lake ever has sea monsters
Do Americans really have to turn everything into a marketing scheme
>>
>>18380701
>Dover demon
Isn´t he something like that fake "bald alien monkey" caught few years ago?
>>
>>18380701
Not cryptid related but the Pine Barrens are legitimately one of the creepiest places in America. The Mafia's dumping ground for decades. You could drive in there with a shovel and a body and that body would never be found.
>>
>>18382540
I don't know about that, my dick has a hell of a body-finder installed.
>>
>>18380701
aren't skinwalkers/fleshgaits all over the place though
>>
>>18381836
you can. just make it up. that's literally what everyone else does.

Bray Road is in my hometown. I know a kid who bought a gorilla costume and went out there in the middle of the night to scare cryptid hunting teenagers.
>>
>>18380701
Wendigo isn't specific to any province. It's just a figure in Algonquin folklore in the Great Lakes and Atlantic Coast regions.

Texas is so big. Bigfoot like creatures have been reported all over. Wood Ape in the Sam Houston Natl Forest. I myself have heard very bizarre calls out there. There is also a bigfoot type creature reported in the Big Thicket and the Franklin Mountains. Ive visited a spoopy cemetery or twelve. scariest thing that happend was someone pulled a .44 on me. I also think I saw a bobcat turn into a dude in a red jacket and scamper off over the fallen trees of a cypress/tupelo swamp in a remote section of the Big Thicket National Preserve.

My favorite story about "Fearsome Critters" is the guyanoosa. It was supposed to be some kind of deer with huge fangs and rabbit ears or some su ch foolishness. Anyway, around the turn of the 20th century, traveling carnivals would sometimes advertise that they had captured one, and were going to put it on display---admission 10¢. After everyone took their seats, the barker would take the stage and go on and on for about a half-hour about how dangerous and vicious this thing was supposed to be. After he'd gotten the crowd sufficiently wound up and terrified, a stagehand would dash out and scream "De guyanoosa am loose!" Of course, everyone would flee the tent like bats out of hell, and the showrunner got to keep the rubes' money without having to show them a damn thing.
