When I lucid dream I can hear music in my head at will and evoke eidetic dreamscapes.
Unfortunately I cannot access to enhanced imagery during the day.
Other techniques I thought about are:
*Sleep deprivation.
*Improving left-hand writing.
By the way I'm not going to sleep tonight (24:13 here now).
I'll see if I can enter a controlled hypnagogic state *tomorrow*.

Method of loci;

I'm monitoring this thread. Good luck, OP.

>Method of loci;
Already experimented with it. Useful but a pain in the ass.
>Ars Notoria... allegedly.
That's fascinating. Never thought these kind of books could have anything useful inside of them.
>I'm monitoring this thread. Good luck, OP.
Thank you. If the thread 404s and something gets out of this I'm going to open another thread with the same title.
You can check 4plebs.com then.

Photographic memory?
I thought it is one of those either you have it or you don't things.
Sure memory tricks are great and useful but eidetic memory is just another thing altogether.
This is pretty cool. I've always envied people's ability to see things in their heads. My memory works fine but I never 'see' anything in my mind's eye, everything is just a strong intuitive feeling. For example if I was told to recall a face, say Joe's face, I wouldn't actually see that person's face in my head I'd just get a strong feeling of 'Joeness', if that makes any sense.
Any other people here like that?
There are racetrams that are said to improve memory, and other plants as well. I doubt you would get photographic memory from them though, pretty sure its just something your born with.
My cousin worked for a dude who owned a shop where you needed like a 10 digit number and the guy knew the number of everybody he ever got a card from and it was atleast a few hundred people

Didn't mean to imply racetrams are plants.
Also, I should ask the dude what he thinks of the berenstain bears.

How come I can listen to music in my dreams?
Real life music in what seems real life quality.
Not to mention photographic details about the dream itself.
Yet IRL my memory is average.

It doesn't work how you think it does.
It's not how you catalog, it's how you retrieve.
(07:32)
Went for a walk to kill boredom but it's freezing cold outside.
Just had ~50 mg of caffeine.
I stupidly ate too much around midnight and I'm already feeling sleepy.

>It's not how you catalog, it's how you retrieve.
That's why I'm bothering losing sleep.
I have access to better imagery when sleep deprived.

>How come I can listen to music in my dreams?
Because that's how dreams work.
People with eidetic memories are genetic freaks, like people who see music and hear color.
(11.42)
I've been doing some math for two hours straight and I'm having hard time putting together simple proofs.
Intuition is still there but working memory is impaired.
I'm not used to functioning without proper rest so I feel ill.
(16:55)
I was very sleepy a few hours ago so I had two of pic related.
Feeling better now.
My skin (hands and face) has a grayish look to it.
I haven't had a meal since like midnight, except for some potato starch.
Pictures from my smartphone pop out of the screen, but this is not uncommon.
I plan on laying down at ~21:00.

What would be the point of sleep deprivation, you are trying to access the imagery then sleep and access the imagery, when awake just try to enter your sleepy state of thought, it's a mind thing, control your brain
I thought facebook was for blogging?
Why is this faggot blogging?
Isn't 4chan a Portuguese cavy fanciers forum? I didn't know we did blogging now?
>>18382211
You mean no one messaged you? Did you check your inbox recently?
>>18382215
No, I'm getting all my messages, I just didn't realise we blog nao is all.
Anyway, enjoy the inanity people.

>I thought facebook was for blogging?
>Why is this faggot blogging?
I don't have Facebook.
I thought about submitting and entry once in a while not to let the thread die in case I enter controlled hypnagogia.
No results in terms of enhanced imagery.
Wew.

>Useful but a pain in the ass.
How was it with you? I also got the "useful but a pain in the ass" result, but now I know the main reason for it was due to a chaotic mind (constant thinking, rarely could organize my thoughts properly).
I've been meditating for a few months and I'm gonna try the method of loci again in January.
>>18383144
Sorry to hear that.
What now?
>>18383273
>How was it with you?
I honestly became good at it in a few days going from 10s to 50 to 500 digits (and basically stopped there).
I was very fascinated by it and I prepared all the loci needed without writing down anything.
I rehearsed the places back and forth until I could memorize the digits at a comfortable speed.
I can memorize 100 digits in 5-10 min depending on training.
Tips: don't write down the list of loci. Don't verbalize an action, just see it. Use three people (i.e. digits) per locus (town itinerary).
The *pain in the ass* feeling stems from the fact that it doesn't feel natural so I don't like it.
It's easy with digits but cumbersome for other data.
>Sorry to hear that.
>What now?
Dunno.
I'm thinking about a biphasic sleep schedule.
I woke up at around midnight, now it's (04:40).
I might take a nap at around noon.
I used O'Brien's book (on bookzz.org).
You can seriously memorize thousands (1, 2, 5, 10, ... it depends on you) of digits after a few days of planning (i.e. preparing associations an loci).
I haven't tested it thoroughly with languages but if you're comfortable with the method and it takes less time than rote memorization, you could go as well on learning a small dictionary.
The point is, it takes willingness and effort.
I'm for a lazier approach.
I want to unlock eidetic imagery (dreams) and experiment with it so see whether it can be used to access visual memory.
With music, I already know it can be done because of personal experience.
I'm sure more people here know about this.
I have experimented with stupid and unsuccessful associative methods as well.
One involves clocks. Digits follow a path on the clock-face (there's a special type of synesthesia about this).
The other for text. While reading you picture most of the words and focus on their position on the page.
Both methods work but they're very slow hence not suitable for fast rote memorizers.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this?
