/x/, I need some spooky games or visual novels to play
Check out the Higurashi game if you haven't watched the anime. I haven't played it but heard it was better then the anime which was beast.
If its anything like umineko (another good one very /x/ related play the VN instead of the anime) its going to be entirely reading.

Read both of those, thought they were great
(the old art of the originals was kind of funny though)

Then perhaps Chaos Head? Couldn't get it to work on my computer though

Does it have a similar quality to Steins;Gate?
All I know is it's related to it in some way

The VN yes (from what I've heard) the anime no
I'd say the SCP games and mainly SCP-087'S game. Scared the everloving shit out of me
I'd just recommend my favourite; Hellnight for PSX. It's uber-creepy and the music is just perfect. It's first person point'n'clickish exploration game with lots of mindscrewing and confusing places.
And if you're looking for something short and easy to get without emulating, then I'd go for https://rpgmaker.net/games/9215/
There was a guy on /x/ who was making a Junji Ito inspired game lately. Unfortunately, I haven't got any info about it, other than it's finished or nearly finished and that it's black-white only.
If anybody knows anything about it, I'd be grateful and maybe it'd help OP with finding something spooky.
Saya no Uta, literally the best horror visual novel
The sticky is comprehensive, but to a fault. It has alot of REALLY shitty releases stuck in there too that while horrofic, are just plain bad as a game. ex. literally every Alone in The Dark game beyond the first.
Besides VNs what kind of secondary genre do you like in your horror games? I can throw out some recommendations.
