This is a cool subject in regards to divinition based plants. I have only been privy to the salvia experience once and it wasn't what I thought it would be like at all. Very strange stuff.

I had a period of years trying everything hundreds of times in many contexts. Psychedelics are an incredible tools to strip away preconceived ideals formed by modern society and allow you to come close to the ultimate underlying forces of reality.

I have tried them in ceremonial procedures of different cultures, a few occasions being alongside someone who comes from a bloodline of older shamans. My opinion is that taking them ritualistically will not properly show you the "spirits" of say African mystics unless you have grown up in that culture and have descendants which you are mimicking.

Despite that they still have immense power to reveal the true workings between your consciousness and external stimuli of the universe

Well I'm not necessarily trying to mimic their procedures. I'm just studying their culture to better understand their style of divination. I was just mentioning it so I could base the thread somewhere. Do you have any experience regarding psychedelic induced trance in the divinin department?
What bloodline did your friend come from?

You will never get the same results as those guys, the Loas live and breath among mortals literally possess people and walk the earth daily. They get offered actual sacrifices in real rituals. Their followers get the real deal out of their practice not some meaningless shit nobody cares about.
