Some dudes who want the best things for their group only, and middle fingers up to everyone else.
Like, you know, every human group to ever exist. They just got successful in certain important areas.

don't masons do a lot of community charity though.
masons in my area funded the renovation of a prominent anglican cathedral earlier this year.
They are not in total control as /x/ makes it out to be. Also they are not as secretive or hell bent on world domination as /x/ makes it out to be. They also have their own common goals and internal conflicts and are not a single unit as /x/ makes it out to be.

They do this in my area as well. In fact they organize and fund a lot of the local events too. They do have a power struggle thing going on, but Id rather have reasonable masons in power rather than any mason haters who aren't fit for such tasks.

They're basically a frat house for old middle age men. Kind of like the shriners.

entirely depends on the Lodge

as you get older and start a family, your friend circle suffers. For those men whose interests do not lie in the pub, the sports field or internet forums, then Lodges provide a haven for hang out and discussion, in a more formal and regimented setting, you do not need to make arrangements to socialise off your own back, its done through the Lodge, it is also great for networking.
In relation to the 'other' side of Freemasonry, these lodges are nothing more than 'feeder clubs'. They maintain the rituals and give tempting hints at something more, and those who find interest in that side of things can pursue it further, and potentially be introduced to another, unlisted lodge.
And what goes on there, you will never know with anything but your own eyes.
Anyone claiming to 'red-pill' you on Freemasonry is lying for whatever reason they have chosen.
Those who know don't speak, those who speak don't know

Sadly not allowed. We have to care for all of our society/neighbourhood/nation.
