I would think that different exercises would result in different kinds of powers.

I seem to have improved my predictive ability by playing rock-paper-scissors flash games. You can find a bunch of them on swfchan, but most of them are furry porn (roshambo, lusty labyrinth).

Find a buddy who's extremely psychic, and doesn't rein it in.

You might get some nasty headaches for a while, but you'll adjust, and their vibe might accelerate the progress of your own. You might lose this when you are away from them for a long period, however - similarly to getting rusty with any particular skill. Of course, this is probably only something that will work if you already have something going on in the first place.
