Spooky Woods and Forests

OP here moar of the story it's almost all pretyped
>few months later right before the end of summer my friends and I go out to camp again
>we all get fucked up
>location to this is very important, we are in the middle of a field, no trees for like a mile, in the middle of nowhere
>Im the last one up, just fucking around with the fire
>hear the exact same type of jabbering in the distance
>I panic and shine my light in the direction, I cant see shit and Im shaking like a fucking tree
>Jabbering gets closer and closer, sounds like an adult babbling away like a baby but completely incoherent
>wake up the whole camp because im being a scared pussy
>it sounds like it is right outside of our circle of tents, everyone can hear this fucker
>We all start looking for this thing, cant see shit
>suddenly we spot 2 eyes like 8 feet up not far from the tents
>the thing fucking shrieks again, I don’t even know how to describe the noise of it… and its gone
>we look for it, there’s no trees and to this day I don’t know how it slipped away from us
>our group stops camping as we are all too afraid of what in the ever living fuck it could be.
>we have bears, deer, coyotes, wolves, elk, cougars but this wasn’t anything like that at all
Id like to hear some of you fuckers stories

the story of my work and my manager really fucked me up after all thats happened guys
>next summer
>I get called in on my day off from my boss
>my co-manager apparently had a break down
>something stalking around the restraint as he was closing down
>everyone sort of thought he lost it
>he locked himself in the bathroom and spent the night there
>there’s no service in this little valley and he didn’t want to leave the safety of the building he was in in order to get to phone
>I go to see him in hospital (checked himself in)
>tells me all about the night
>mentions the jabbering noise and is almost perfectly able to describe it
>Im freaked the fuck out by this
>Im the only person who knows how to manage this place now

END OF this story just so I can get it off my fucking mind.
>fast forward till now
>haven’t heard anything in the woods or any stories
>Im now a manager and making good money so I just keep my head down
>yesterday we had a wedding that went until almost 12 so we were cleaning up until 1
>we take all of our trash by an ATV/Mule to dumpsters
>We finish and I sned everyone home and now Im just locking up
>Find a garbage bag full of food and shit one of the kids forgot
>I ride down in mule to toss it and both the dumpsters are full to the brim

>next dumpsters a quarter mile away won’t take long on mule so I think fuck it and take it to the other dumpster
>this is a sort of residential area hence the dumpster but it’s mainly trees and wilderness
>trip down to dumpster I get eerie feeling and I book it down there
>start putting away trash when I hear the exact fucking same jabbering noise
>Throw trash and hop in ATV, I nope the fuck out of there
>flooring it back to garage and safety of the restaurant, I see this thing out of the corner of my eye
>this huge gangly thing just sprinting alongside
>its pale as fuck and I didn’t get a great look at it because its dark
>im shitting bricks
>Easily pushing 30 mph and this thing is just pacing me staying right with me, all of a sudden takes off even faster and I see it scrabble in front of me and off the fucking road.
>park mule and go inside, hear the fucking jabbering again
>I go to my bag and grab my p226 fire off all 15 rounds into forests as I run to my car
>don’t even close the fucking doors or anything I nope the fuck out of there
>floor it home, I cant sleep at night anymore /x/ and I feel like Im being watched

>living in shit hole MO at the time, bout 4 months
>closest neighbor is 4 miles away
>staying with a couple I know while trying to figure my life out
>they own 5 dogs that just sort of wander the property
>i get to walk the 8 miles to the closest town to look for work a few times a week (internet wasn't a big thing at the time and they only had 1 car to use for their own needs)
>often end up walking home in the dark
>one night I'm walking home at a couple hours after sundown and start to feel a bit anxious
>discover after a while that I'm picking up on a distinct rustling noise coming from hollers nearby
>pick up my pace
>it does too

Now I feel like it's important to note here that Missouri is covered in hills and hollers about as far as you can imagine and I figure by this point that I'm being followed by a wild dog or something, probably making a home out of one of the cave entrances nearby. Not exactly the best situation since I didn't have my knife on me, but not anything to be really bothered by yet.

>start making my way up hill, following the curve of the road
>think whatever it is got bored and wandered off for about half a mile before I turn around on an impulse and see it
>sort of looks like a tree on the side of the road at first
>then it looks at me

Now I don't remember exactly what I was thinking at the time, but if I hadn't pissed in town I might have needed a change of jeans. That kinda weird shock feeling where your whole body literally feels ice cold for it and the rest of your body just goes limp. Anyway.

>am already running, don't really know how long I stood and gawked for, just know that at some point I was breathing really hard and my legs ached
>finally reach my friends property line and am instantly greeted by a couple of the dogs they own
>turn back to look in the woods

Nothing. Zip.

>realize I ran for nothing, nothing behind me, no sounds aside from dog barks from the family pack
>go back inside and try to play off my acting like an idiot
>it works, nobody knows how retarded I am

>next day one of the dogs is found dead at the bottom of a holler with half its face missing

I still think about that shit to this day, moved to Iowa a few weeks later. Never going back to Missouri.
