They were testing.. for want of a less memed term.. Alien tech. More specifically, "pro-gravity" tech, as opposed to the famous "anti-gravity" people talk so much about.

In 1929, 2 metallic balls were recovered in Torino, Italy. The first had crashed on farmland and was recovered in pieces. The second was accidently shot down by an artillery regiment training just north of the town. Both were reported and well documented at the time.

At some point during WW2.. Hitler was given some(?) of what was found in return for Italy's safety. Fortunately for us, 1940's german physics wasn't equipped to deal with it. Anyho..

The US invaded Germany, grabbing every nut, bolt and bespectacled person in sight. Some(?) of the UFO tech was recovered, some may have been sent to Japan by Hilter, some may have ended up in private hands. Either way, the US took what they could home and started testing.

That's what (probably) crashed at Roswell.

most likley technology harvested from germany. jet fighter engines, early stealth tech, probably prototypes of high altitude spy planes.

To add: All UFOs with aerodynamic properties, ie wings, saucers, triangles etc, are man-made. A particular problem (which may have been solved by now ) was that the "engine", to be crude, wouldn't start if the UFO was in physical contact with the anything, be it the Earth, cables, whatever. It wouldn't start even if suspended 1000ft up. The UFOs had to be dropped from a plane and started in mid-air, but dropping a 1-ton spherical object from 30,OOO ft gives you less than 3 minutes before it smashes into the ocean.. so.. aeroplaning features were added to allow the UFO to fly conventionally, giving it as much time as needed to start the "pro-gravity" core. "Saucers" were always dropped from orbit, "Triangles" were able to fly conventionally.

Real (ET) UFOs are always spherical and unmanned. They're metallic, but sometimes appear to be white-hot (or orange). They're probes, and probably visit this planet in their thousands every year. They fly around, gather data, then fly away. No abductions. No crop-circles. No beaming up any scotties.

We (meaning those involved) have no idea what they (Aliens) look like. As far as I know we've never been visited or had any direct contact. We do, however, have some idea of where some of these probes originate, and it's not that far away desu.

Final thought..

The latest Kepler data shows that just over 1 in 4 stars in our galaxy have an earth-like planet in orbit. Our galaxy contains millions of stars, meaning there's a million earths in our galaxy alone.

We could be knee deep in alien pussy someday.

Why do people think that a ship capable of interstellar travel would be damaged by max terminal velocity which impacted the earth while these supposed aliens ships are exposed to much more forces of higher gravity and force in outer space
