Now that /sum/'s effectively dead and I'd contributed tidbits to the bin, I'm rewriting it. Maybe I can help make this thing more accurate and with a bit more backbone.

It was between that and "spirit cooking" edition.

Anyway, here's the library:

I'll pasetbin the /sum/ update when I'm ready.

In the last thread ape and satyr (I think) were telling me I need to work on my asana before focusing on dharana practice because you can't keep a mind steady when the body isn't. My concentration usually slackens after about 20-30 minutes. I'd attributed it to lack of mental stamina and having begun by sitting for 15 minutes every day and working my way up. I realized today though that my back and core muscles were getting a bit tired and I was shaking/vibrating just a bit in the second half hour, and I'm thinking that may play a role in my concentration lapsing. Any advice on remedying this would be appreciated. Would good core exercises help here? I do crunches and bridges pretty regularly, occasionally low squats and leg lifts. Or is this more of a keep practicing and it fixes itself thing

id disagree with ape and satyr, asana practice goes right along dharana. Pick an asana, and meditate. as you practice that asana you will practice dharana at the same time. Thing is - dont switch between asanas, pick one and master it. Exercises are not need, the body is not really needed. its merely a vessel for your mind.

Hey aghori,

I want to start practicing pranayama; particularly "anuloma viloma"/alternate nostril breathing

What do you think of Liber e's instructions? It's under "pranayama":

http://www.sacred-texts.com/oto/lib9.htm#4

If successful, then there's another liber for a more advanced practice, under 5., "second practice - pranayama"

http://hermetic.com/crowley/libers/lib206.html

In the Sivananda Companion to Yoga, it's recommended to practice in a ratio of 2:8:4 (inhale, hold, exhale)
using the Vishnu mudra.

http://selfdefinition.org/yoga/Lucy%20Lidell%20-%20The%20Sivananda%20Companion%20to%20Yoga.pdf

(page 72/73, under the chapter "Breathing")

I want to use the liber's instructions along with the vishnu mudra to practice the anuloma viloma. Can I practice this excerice on its own without encountering imbalance,
or do you need to combine the anuloma viloma with other pranayama excercises to avoid any imbalance?

Should I follow the 2:8:4 ratio, or is what is outlined in liber e and RV vel spiritus OK?
Is there any particular hand position that you would recommend when practicing the anuloma viloma?

Thank-you.

Hara Hara Mahadev!

I think its great to start the practice, and the explanations in Liber E seem fine, although the Sivananda ratios fit better imho, but this is purely subjective. try both and see what works. What i dont like about the method described in Liber E is it seems like pranayama is treated like a practice in its own right. The sweat described in the second link is simply your prana becoming so locked in manipura chakra that youre essentially cooking up. It will lead to imbalance if practiced as a hard regimen without other ways of mediating this prna to other parts. Simply implement it into some meditation and asana, and youre set. Use the pranayama as a means to clear out your nadis, almost like an "astral detox", before other practices. This will greatly help your practice. additionaly id highly listen to the tip about not eating before it, over all having an empty stomach is helpfull to dharana, asana and all other practices. Usually before beginning a cycle of [ractice i take a few day break from eating as a whole and supply my body with clean water, and during practice avoid meat unless needed in particular rituals.

hope i helped

Jai Jai Tara Maa!

>although the Sivananda ratios fit better imho, but this is purely subjective. try both and see what works.

I'll use the 2:8:4 ratio first, maybe experiment with liber e later.

>What i dont like about the method described in Liber E is it seems like pranayama is treated like a practice in its own right.

I agree. I was originally doing this "kundalini meditation" which included specific pranayama exercises along with bija mantras. I found the LRP/middle pillar routine to fit my goals a little better, so I started using them. Without these pranayama exercises it does not feel the same at all. I want to start with the anuloma viloma at least.

>The sweat described in the second link is simply your prana becoming so locked in manipura chakra that youre essentially cooking up. It will lead to imbalance if practiced as a hard regimen without other ways of mediating this prna to other parts. Simply implement it into some meditation and asana, and youre set.

Oh my. So doing this strictly on its own is not a good idea. So I'll do this before I take up my afternoon LRP/middle pillar.

>additionaly id highly listen to the tip about not eating before it, over all having an empty stomach is helpfull to dharana, asana and all other practices.

I agree; I usually eat breakfast after meditation. Usually a small lunch after doing the afternoon LRP/MP.

Thank-you; your advice was helpful!

Any of you guys ever curse someone and have it work? Share your stories.

I want some comfy stories because I just cursed someone but I won't be able to see if it works because the person in question lives out of town. I cursed I did a bloodline curse of bad health, bad dreams, bad luck, mistrusts and misfortune because they lied in court about my mother. She won the case and was too eager to wash her hands of them to counter-sue for legal fees.
>>
>>18318648
You can't make that work with only solo effort. That's fictional. You would have to be practical with social equation. Malicious practice of any sort in connection with the person that they may or may not know about, but regardless feel torment in being receptive to malice.
However, this makes you receptive to malice.
But the fact that you already have the desire to invoke it, you are receptive to malice.
>>

The first book I ever read on magick was Shamanism for dummies and Animal Speak by Ted Andrews. I've moved out of that sphere these days but I still draw on that knowledge unconsciously now and again so I recommend it as a beginner course on spirit animal meanings.

The best advice on how to supplement your knowledge after that is to learn about the animal in question via animal planet, discovery channel documentaries, youtube videos etc. Things like diet, behaviors, and habitats are good to know even if you're just working with the spiritual animal itself.

After that you should have an idea of what animals are trying to contact you, what they want from you or to show you, and what spirit animals you want to reach out to yourself and perhaps how you will be received by them.

They are forced on purpose. They are locks, so to say. You get trained to turn on your abilities, only when you perform the necessary ritual, so that they will not turn on by accident.

Can anyone jump right in into working with the Goetia? Does require any previous experience?
>>
>>18320923

Hara Hara Mahadev!

Kek is something like Shiva nataraja. In fact id go as far as to say every pantheon has an equivalent . Hes an enityt which is supposed to put in motion events which will end a universe/world if it becomes too fucked. Normally these deities would be triggered by other deities, but im guessing collective effort of many human beings can trigger those deities as well.

Essentially an equivalent of a panic atomic explosion button.
>>
>>18320966
'cthonic' is basically a fancy word meaning 'of the underworld.'

Basically Kek is like a proto-Hecate; a dark god(dess) of night, death, and change.

Not at all. Kek is pretty neutral and represents pure chaos of darkness (not evil or anything) and is associated with the state of darkness right before the light comes in. If anything, Kek's appearance in these times is a harbinger for incoming light.

Kek is not a god of darkness. He is a dark deity that, by his pure presence, brings in and attracts the light. Good times are coming.
>>
>>18321177

Hara Hara Mahadev!

Yep,thats what shiva nataraja and the other gods are too. they destroy what is to make space for new light.

>>18321124

Google "magick"

Go to a wiki link or any other website link

Read a bit

If you find any interesting term, google that, then read about it

Then once you find another cool concept, google that one as well. And then read about it

If you really dig something, google for books on that, then buy/acquire books and read them.

If, while reading about anything, you come upon more cool stuff, google and/or read books about it.

Tl;dr: how to start? You read as much as you can about literally everything.

Also, dubs for Kek.

"We do not agree with the viewpoint that the knower is (fundamentally) different from the object of knowledge. As against this viewpoint, we hold that whoever acts as the knower forms the body of that knowledge in the vessel of his own personality
The opposition seems to have crossed the limit of deftness in asserting the poitn again and again that on agreeing to the viewpoint that knowledgableness is existential, knowledge of everything would become common to all. In fact, knowingness of one never becomes precisely the same of anyone else.
What decentralization lies in holding knowingness as existential? Indeed, by holding this point of view, the flaw gets annulled. Its status is also not kindred to that of the blue (effulgent radiance of Rudra), etc. Knowingness, in fact, is that attribute by which the whole world becomes existential. Indeed, the whole knowableness becomes substantial on account of its inherence to existence.
You utter, as per practice in the world, that existence is derived from non-existence; inherence is derived from the unassociated, and the associated; the lats is derived as a particular via elimination of what is not eliminated; so is the case with whiteness making the black into white. Similar is the case of the moving, according movement to the stagnant. In the same way, objects of blue (etc.) being unknown enter into the class of the known by virtue of the entry of the attribute of knowingness to them"

If all of this chaos magic was proven REAL these last days, why aren't we making hypersigil to make us have powers like dragon ball or something?

Even normies have that ticking inside to shout and become super saiyan or some shit like doing kamehamehas. This thing itself is already a meme.

This is just an example I hope you get my idea.
>>
>>18324437
>Yes, it's the magick that worked, not the countless hours of propagandizing, campaigning, outreach, and canvasing of Trump voters (FOR FREE) which produced an electoral but not popular win well inside most aggregate polling's margins of error.

You wanna talk about tantra, or lemegeton, or, y'know, actual magick, I'm all ears.
>>
>>18324437

Hara Hara Mahadev!

x will never be able to do memetics like pol has. We are too unorganized, most of us have conflicting goals, and their hypersigil of kek worked only out of pure chance, they didnt have the element of possible disbelief as they just did it for the fun of it. We would have pro aby planned the sigil, and then done it for makeing a sigil which doesnt work, you are supposed to forget the point of the sigil.

Pol is officially better at magick than us, tbqh.
>>
>>18324453
So what do you mean you are supposed to forget the point of the sigil?

I'm downloading MEGA folder for chaos magic, not sure if its enough to understand it.

Hara Hara Mahadev!

yep i totally get it. I feel the same way. But in any case if /x/ would work together in an almost cult like fashion, we could make as much change as pol did with memetics. But thats not going to happen imho.

>>18324464
Basicly, you create a sigil with an intended purpose, you reacha point of extasis ( charging the sigil with said purpose) and then you forget what the sigil is for. The more you see it the more charged it is but if you remember its intended purpose it looses its power, so to speak. A great book about sigil magic is Frater U.D. Practical Sigil Magic. Idk if its in the MEGA
>>
>>18324564
Do you think /pol/ actually "summoned" Kek the egyptian diety or created an individual separate spiritual entity, or is their influence more of a psychological, meme, propaganda type of magic, you know, not really paranormal?
>>
>>18313552
Always been curious about something, Ape you can summon physical manifestations of your "spells"/"curses"/"faith" whatever?
>>
>>18324574

Hara Hara Mahadev!

well, first of all, lets establish the fact that if you have to do something, the best way to do it is the quickest and least costly way. This can be applied to all goals. This can be applied to gods aswell.

I believe Kek was summoned by /Pol/ and part of what he does is done through psychological, meme propaganda type of magic, but part of what he does is paranormal. Take for example his image spreading as a free commercial for trump, nothing paranormal. But getting hillary sick etc, thats also his doing in my opinion.

I dont think he is a seperate createdentity as there is too much synchronicity going on. Part of this synchronicity may also be his doing, as signs to his followers.

sooo.. yeah. Pol awoke an egyptian deity. Id honestly like to see somone contact Kek in an evocation, as id count him as evocable at this point. we should get t known his true motive, his own goal. Kek wont be serveing /Pol/ forever, he has his own ideas as all entities do. And pol has absolutely no idea what theyre ucking with, they are just riding the wave.

>>18324564
I was pondering on something then. Sigils are just imagery like a drawing or something? Can it be like gestures and so on? This makes sense in the history of magicians. Like making sigils with the hands or poses.

Also let me get this straight about the forgetting about the sigil. /pol/ never thinks that Pepe was created to make meme magic work, now a lot of people think that Kek was existing already and /pol/ helped Kek awake. Pepe was never about meme magic neither are people posting pepes to use it like an easy formula for magic. This is why GETs are so important because gets are a "sacrifice" which you try to post and you wait for RNG to work on your favor, win win if you GET, you lose if you singles.
I would like to understand specifically with meme magic of Pepe, where people are forgetting the sigil and making it work.

I would like to understand where pic related is connected with all of this.

Also I have the Frater U.D. - Practical Sigil Magic.pdf now that you mentioned.

Fuck off Kekites.

>>
>>18324683
I might do it one of these days. I posted on /pol/ about it. They should take the next step in magic desu. If all of them started doing evocations and asking kek of the same thing, they might work a thousand times more efficiently thn with just sigils. Infact they could use the charged sigils (LITERALLY rare pepes) as sacrifice.

>>18324677
Ive worked with both drawings, gestures and sounds. The idea with gestures and sounds is the same as with the drawn sigils discussed in frater uds book. First you crate the sigil that has visible meaning (or hearable) and then you morph it so its not clear, and then repeat it or stare at it untill you just loose the sense of what it is exactly. The idea behind is that when you forget the purpose of it it gets ejected into your subconcious, and when you see it more it subconciously charges, but once it falls into regular conciousness (when you remeber what it was for) it looses the charge.

Who here as experience the ecstasy of power over spirits?
>>
I read that the Lam, Vam, Ram, etc. mantras for the chakras are mundane crap and that the real mantras which actually work aren't publicly available.

Is this true? How the fuck am I supposed to make spiritual progress if the only gurus who can transit this information are in some bumfuck village in northern india?
>>
>>18325438
I keep thinking I added that but I guess I haven't.

>>18325463
It's partially true. More like they have peculiar usage. There's enough out there to find your way.

The seed mantras for Kashmiri Saivism are in Paratrishikavivirana, and read alongside Kaulajnananirnaya, reveals secret meanings to those with eyes to pierce the twilight language.

Abhinavagupta comments that you can brute force your way in by constructing your own mantras in accordance with lineal doctrines. Moreover, there's enough interspersed between Tantraloka and Paratrishikavivirana to do the exoteric form of worship and get a sense of mantra installation.

Hevajra Tantra does much the same.

There are some basic leads in the AMOoKoS manual.

There are fucking thousands of real gurus. You probably have one in your town/city. They are just really picky. Most gurus you can look up on google are not really enlightened. It was the same in jesus' time where the spiritual elite are frauds without real knowledge.

Yes, Lam, Vam, Ram are just words unless you actually know how to pronounce them with the right tone and tension in your body. There really isn't anything you can do about that but pick another path to spiritual power if that's what you're trying to get out of your practice.

Horseshit. Self initiation can be achieved. Information on pronunciation can be found. Redacted lineal mantras have begun to crop up. Read, research, and ask questions.

Tantraloka 16:195 as an ordeal of consciousness.
Tantraloka 4:62:
>The purpose of self initiation is to mobilize the essense of the mantra which is being practiced. Mobilization of the essence of the mantra results in activation of self knowledge. It has been observed that if one is unable to get a teacher capable of activating the mantra, by praying to Candika Devi (Chinnamasta, Raktadevi) regularly, one becomes an Acarya within a month, a Sadhaka in a fortnight. A Putraka in a week, and within four days less by quarter of a day, Samayi. In this process of initiation, Raktadevi is supposed to perform the ceremony Herself as the provision of the Shastras. This method is to be adopted in case of unavailibility of a Guru.

After having meditated for a long time and other spiritual practices, I took LSD (not first time) and in my maximum moment of the trip completely "broke through" and could finally understand "it".

As I understood "it" which is to say, everything, I became a "fifth-dimensional being" during gnosis sessions in the rest of the trip. I became fifth-dimensional by focusing back into the revelations during the break-through moment while on gnosis (which is extremely easy to achieve in LSD).

So my main question lies on the revelation itself during the breakthrough. I genuinely felt like it was something external weaving it into my thoughts. I can't specify how because that was one of the "messages" (its also extremely complicated and "weird")

And then I woke up the next day and, as usual, my mind was completely back to its skeptical way. Obviously I could read what I wrote but I quickly dispelled that as just trip-induced and obviously fake. During the trip, everything felt extremely real and True, but that's with any trip. Everything feels so real and magical but then you wake up and realize it was trip-induced very easily. I haven't done LSD since.

But then I've been reading a lot more on spirituality and general magick and have only started but I'm really getting into it, mostly since I can have gnosis so easily. Reading so much has now led me to really believe in the occult. Spirits, entities, gods, etc. from a chaos magick point of view, etc. The whole stuff.

Which leads me to now doubt if it might just have actually been real? Could some entity have actually communicated this to me? And for the skeptic side, could I have "enlightened" myself in a moment of very deep gnosis? Perhaps I'll find out next time I do LSD, though I am a bit scared about "digging too deep". Hopefully this was indeed a one-trip breakthrough with subsequent trips retaining the revelation.

Any help/opinion on all this? I'd like some external point of view

Okay, sure, why not: people believe even weirder shit any day of the week

> just trip-induced and obviously fake.
>Which leads me to now doubt if it might just have actually been real?

...why do these have to be contradictory?

1) Brains make meaning. Funny chemical enter the brain. Funny chemical fucks with the brain with its own set of rules. Funny chemical carries meaning.

2) Fifth-dimensional beings are by definition not physical as we understand the term, for all we know mundane events could be coherent with some such metaphysically elevated events.

3) What gives? Your interpretation of the fact only has as much worth as you can actually milk out of it.

4) If you were on acid power-up and actually broke through a higher level of understanding and reality, no wonder it seems unbeliavable when back on earth

Saint Philip K. Dick got struck by a pink laser beam after his dentist dosed him up, which besides the revelation proper taught him about some birth defect his son had, or something like that.

Dear Ape From Hoth, I went to get the PDF for the Paratrishikavivirana and it said in the preface that this was Abhinavagupta talking to advanced disciples. Which of his works would be a good starting point for someone that hasn't read him at all? PS, I practice yoga, and I've read quite a bit about Hinduism, I just don't know anything about Kashmir Shaivism or Abhinavagupta.
>>
>>18325722
Thank you for your post. This is exactly what I needed.

As a chaos magician (I hate the stigma behind the name these years) I can definitely see how I could use something like that in magick. So far I haven't told anyone irl and don't plan to do so, ever and even destroyed evidence. It's so extreme and completely out of the ordinary no one would think I was sane.

All the time before I really started going into magick/meditation I was 100% skeptical about it, but now here it is.

A big part of the revelation was having "choosen" LSD as the drug to "commune" with the fifth-dimensional me. (it's not that LSD is the magical drug, but it's the one the "external influence" "chose")

So now all it boils down to is another LSD trip. Perhaps my newfound magick abilities might now prevent me from any external influence? (I plan on banishing with some stuff I have proven to work)

Skeptic scenario: maybe I'll write something really cool sometime

Magick/occult scenario: I have access to the fifth-dimensional spirits/entities/gods/God

Psychonautics scenario: I have access to the fifth dimension, which is fucking amazing like holy FUCK dude

Buddhist: I might just have enlightened myself, need further proof but possibility? Need for meditation to transfer into reality and then just die and ascend.

I've thought about this shit so much I sometimes thought that the thoughts were just too far from reality. Good to know they're not there yet.
>>
>>18325681

It was. A malevolent being who knows all the right peace and love psychic buzzwords fooled you.

All scenarios sound cool.

Self initiation is impossible, but takeing up the first guru, Shiva, as your guru is a possibility. In fact the very first gurus did exactly this, reeived knowledge from Shiva himself. This path is harder, and slower, but nonetheless it is possible to achieve the same outcomes.

If each guru had to have a guru, youd never find the first guru.

I started doing breathing meditation recently at the recommendation of a friend whose therapist got her to start doing it a few years ago. As far as I know it's an entirely secular thing, at least in that all the overtly religious, spiritual, and/or occult elements have been removed.

It consists of breathing in (at the belly first, and chest second if at all) to a count of four, then out to a count of four, focusing on one's breathing only, then, whenever any thoughts, emotions, or other distractions arise, recognizing them as what they are and then calmly letting them go (without getting frustrated) and returning one's attention to breathing.

This was the most recent step in a process of self-improvement and healing I've been working at for several months. So far, I've made huge advances in my ability to focus and in my ability to handle both physical and emotional discomfort, and I've stopped loathing myself.

My questions:
>While healing itself obviously has spiritual significance, is there any benefit beyond this that I would get from doing some specific Buddhist or other meditation?
>Is there any reason not to take a secular form of meditation and reincorporate my own religious elements?
>Does the count (4) matter? For example, if 5 is an important symbol in the religious tradition I follow, is there any reason not to do a 5-count instead (and speed up the count slightly if the length of breathing needs to stay the same)?
>>
The only two religious experiences I've had in my adult life were as follows:

>About four months ago after reading the Principia Discordia for a laugh, I said a prayer to Eris on a whim, asking her to help me improve my self-esteem. About two hours later, I had an epiphany and I've been on an upward trajectory ever since.

>For the hell of it, I listened to some YouTube meditation track intended to open your third eye, and, with my eyes closed, I literally saw a pink Ganesha, to the point that I felt almost like my eyes are open and he was in front of me, and then after that I lay down, and while still fully aware of what was going on around me in my room, had a vision of what I believe is some kind of higher self or a version of me that is fully healed from all the trauma and unhealthy coping strategies and so on that I've experienced.

Any advice on what to do now?
>>
>>18327033
>Is there any reason not to take a secular form of meditation and reincorporate my own religious elements?
