It's for smelling heat.

Heat has flavor; you can taste energy. That's the big secret.

Consider that air particles get around quite quickly. With practice, and the right evolutionary keys, your third eye allows you to read the energy off of a molecule, similar to how your eyes read language off a book. But it's more wave like, less discrete symbolic. Shape itself operates like a sort of Rosetta Stone for consciouness, and energy retains memory of the shapes it once occupied, even after moving away from those shapes.

Your third eye helps you recognize the flavor of molecules. When open, a group of people can read a mushroom and get a consistent story from it, without ever needing to share a word with each other.

It senses heat. Specifically, prana.

Surely you've been close enough to another life form to taste its breath before. That's prana, the life force, that is exchanged through dispersed molecules. If your third eye is "open," then upon cycling each others' prana, you can know their thoughts, and they yours. You open it with love. As in, if you love the taste of their prana, then it is absorbed into your body, and if you don't, then it is deflected.

That is correct.

Love is actually an action related to the distribution of energy over time. It has an empirical definition, however its measurement can only be observed through consciousness. The empirical definition of love is an integration of the consciousness frequencies of those who observe it, by way of the energy which transmits those frequencies.

Here's a hint; in order to really know what wine would taste like for another person, you also need to taste the tastebuds of that person.

If you are looking for people who have experience in discerning flavor, look first for those who have most experiencing tasting the flavor of that which tastes, secondly for those who simply taste things in general.

A wine connoisseur may have lots of experience tasting wine. What they probably do not have is lots of experience tasting the tongues and olfactory bulbs of all the people who then drink the wine the connoisseur rated.
