Though I would enjoy a general discussion on helpful spirits, to tell the truth, I just want to know if I'm alone here.

Ever since I can remember, I've been able to see what would have been my twin brother.
we would have been identical twins if he wasn't still-born. He looks about like me, only
a bit more toned, wears glasses, and has fairly long hair.
I've seen him at various times in my life (holidays, parties, sleepovers etc.) but he
didn't really come into my life until middle school. At that time, I fell into bouts of
narcolepsy and people started taunting and avoiding me. It was at this time that my brother
started pointing me in the 'right' direction. I've never heard a single sound from him, but he
would indicate things, all of which to this day have put me down a pretty good path.
For example, when I was at the doctors office,
he floated over a kiosk of brochures, and pointed out a sleep specialist's pamphlet after
having 8 tests from the family doctor come back as all clear. the expert on the pamphlet
found the problem in 2 visits and had it fixed in 5. Anytime I've followed his lead, I've never
gone astray, and have seemingly gotten off easier than I should have for various actions.

does /x/ have any similar stories?

>does /x/ have any similar stories?
Not for certain on my end, no, but at the risk of straining your relation with your spirit twin you should start recording this stuff and running tests.

You say mostly it's been nonverbal or physical but chiefly a clairvoyant interaction or intervention? I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess it's only been when you're in dire need or some stringent, nonrepeatable condition like that.
>>
>>18261687
I had a feeling that the spirit of my great grandmother saved me from getting run over by a car twice.
>>
>>18262076
And yet you don't post a greentext about it. Why you gotta be such a fag?
>>
>>18261976
not strictly when I'm in dire need. he's given me a decent bit of guidance, not all of which was of need or want. He once pointed me toward a lonely, drunk old guy on a bench one night who turned out to be a hell of a mentor (he was a medic toward the end of Vietnam, currently runs his own medical surplus store.)

Also, ill try run some kind of tests. anything you'd recommend? or should I just take a camera and go places I probably shouldn't?
>>
>>18262733
stuff from beyond the veil can't be captured with terrestrial recording equipment, don't bother.
Please tell more stories though, very fascinating
>>
>>18262807
sure, but if recording equipment wont do the trick, what tests do I run?

>joggin around town one morning
>go past a local greasy spoon, see my brother in the alley behind it.
>he motions me over, notice there's an employee smoking out back.
>walk down the alley cause I'm just lookin for something to do
>motions like he's smoking.
>ask the guy "how's it goin"
>after a bit of shock, asks me what I'm doin back here
>tell him I'm lookin for shit to pass the time
>long story short, we talk, and he asks me to run and get him more smokes, he has 6 more hours til shift ends.
>hands me a 20, tells me keep the change I'm off.
>headed toward local 7/11
>see brother again
>look at him, he points toward a car
>look over, the car cranks up, pulls away.
>one of the guys bags has fallen out.
>after 5 minutes, I take the bag.
>has 3 packs of smokes and a 1 liter Pepsi

And that's how my brother got me 20 bucks and a pepsi on a 20 minute jog
>>
>>18262912
I wish my 3 living brothers would give me shekels
>>
>>18262912
> but if recording equipment wont do the trick, what tests do I run?
Don't heed that anon, if he isn't in your shoes to know how this works how would he know it wouldn't?

You really need to give this brother of yours a pseudoname I can't keep calling him ghost twin, anyway figure out if he's around to just assist you silently or if he's open to conversation. For all you know he's stuck here and bound to you.

As for equipment just consider first what you have around you now. Don't jump for specialized stuff yet. Recording a ghost everyone can see haunting a place and a spirit only guiding your sight would be like trying to record a dream you had for everyone else to see. But you can try to analyze your dreams by writing them down and finding patterns.

So figure out if you can contact him somehow by just plain asking him to appear, or meditating, or in a lucid dream. Then try to speak with him, see if he can speak or why he won't. Ask how he's doing this. Don't ask why, thank him instead. A little gratitude before being probed for answers would be nice I imagine. You can ask if there's a larger purpose to it. I dunno, I can think of a dozen questions but first figure out if you can ask them. If an impostor or dream character were to simply fake the meeting I'm sure the next time your phantom brother guides you in the waking world he'll clear up things with a head shake or something or you'll know from the success and failure of questions asked in the dream.

Once you can discuss things with Gemini Casper then you can get to a process of experimenting and elimination. A word of caution, generally I wouldn't suggest asking his spirit to come inside your or summon it through any kind of forceful means. That might not just be upsetting for him but draw something else.
>>
>>18262912
Knowing a Chimney wanted a smoke, how to solve your present sleep problem or the history of a guy is one thing, but if he knew that bag was going to fall out before you even got there that sounds like clairvoyance and precognition. Consider the implications, then consider attending poker nights.
>>
>>18263024
yea. thought about doing it, but since we don't talk and this is really only the 2nd time I've talked about him, haven't seen much need. well, I was named after a poet, so I guess it's only fitting to do the same for him. think Percy will do?

>>18262912
I don't know about that. I have a knack for cards (not due to Percy,) but gambling has never been my strong suit.
>>
>>18263107
Right. So clear a day to try and have a chat with Percy. Not summon him but request a sit down. If that doesn't work try meditating to meet him wherever spirits go, if that doesn't work figure out how to lucid dream.
If all else fails and Percy's as guiding as you say he should show up and gesture what needs to be done or you can just ask him to when you next see him.

Keep sharing any experiences you've had, not just ones where you know or saw Percy guiding you. Anything you can't explain that's happened. Stuff showing up or going missing.

A pattern should show up with enough reflection. Why would scoring you 20 bucks and a drink have as much weight as curing your sleeping problems? Why make all those guest appearances at parties and holidays? It couldn't just be whatever opportunity is in your general area since he derailed the path of your jog to a 7/11 to collect the prize.
There must be thousands of opportunities to stumble on more important things nearby.

Try to remember the time these things happen or the general location or something you were thinking about, wearing or doing at the time.
>>
>>18263150
alright, ill try to get a bit more detailed. and ill try to remember times I didn't see him and weird things happened. also, things have gone missing quite a bit, but a good bit of it is I'm unorganized, and what hasn't turned back up is mostly old keepsakes.

>mid afternoon, headed back to work after my lunch break
>had half of my lunch leftover, 2 tacos and a quesadilla for when I get off.
>see Percy sitting on a bench, points me toward an alley
>a homeless guy is sitting just outside of it
>sign reading "will work for food"
>still need to restock a few displays in the lobby at work, a little help would be nice.
>walk over, give him what I have and tell him I could use some help in the Mariot down the street
>tell me his name is Jeffery, we stock the shelves, boss says I also need to clean the back room cause some of our staff are lazy fucks.
>doesn't say shit about me and Jeffrey cause he knows I'm not supposed to be doing this shit when I'm supposed to be at the front desk.
>as we finish up, hand Jeffery $40 and a few minibar sandwiches
>about 20 minutes later, someone walks in, gets to the counter, slips me a note and flashes a gun in his back pocket
>we're being robbed. fuckin marvelous
>takes the $96 we have in the register and my wallet with $12 in it.
>as he's leaving, notice someone walks by one of the windows, but hasn't moved in front of the doorway yet.
> Jeffrey charge the fucker as he's walking out, and knocks him unconscious
>tells me he was begging outside the mariot when he saw this shabby little shit putting his gun in his waist.

do you also want to hear about the smaller stuff or keep going with the biggest examples I can remember.
>>
>>18263299
>do you also want to hear about the smaller stuff or keep going with the biggest examples I can remember.
Depends on what you begin to feel forms a pattern or chain of significance. I'd stick with the big things though since from that last case you gave it sounds like Percy's larger intent wasn't just to get you assistance with the work but lay the foundation for much needed karma later on.
Which again suggests being able to foresee events and know information without a source. Or possibly the knowing the information leads to being able to predict things to a degree.

Also I'd suggest going to the FAQ on the front page and making your name a tripcode.
>>
Hey OP, I've heard similar stories from other people who can actually see the spirits of the kids who are aborted/stillborn. It's a shame, I was pro-choice until I realized how fucked up it is. They seem to orbit around their mothers/family members

It's like they've made a commitment to live a life, but since they lost the opportunity to complete it in the physical, they "grow up" right alongside you in the closest plane they can, the etheric. I guess this also means they have better access to their higher senses and intelligence, so they probably don't learn as much as they would if they actually lived.

Try to meet up with "Percy" and have some genuine conversations with him, about everything. He's probably really smart.
>>
>>18263321
that's just the problem. ive looked before, and really can't seem to find a pattern other than him showing up to give me a karmic edge when something bad is about to happen or when there is a chance at receiving a small reward.
>>
>>18263529
The enigma is whether it's been by choice and if so the question is why those choices or if there's some kind of obligation or limit and again if so why?

All we can do is try to figure it out from your side of things. Try recalling the dates of these events, even if the time of day doesn't add up maybe there's a frequency between the duration of days, weeks or months until he can or must show up. The most obvious example would be your shared birthday, anything happen around then? Even a few days or weeks before or after?

>>18263565
well, let me try and back track, see if I can remember the dates. Ill start with the most recent one

>about a month and 1/2 ago, I think it was 9/3
>about to leave for the day
>see Percy standing by the staff exit in the back
>motions me toward the kitchen's entrance
>head in, he's pointing me toward the fridge
> hear a light thumping on the door.
>run over , open it, find James, the first of the late shift guys to arrive
>he had only been stuck in there for 10 minutes, but that things is always at 34*F
>make sure he's alright for a few minutes, thanks me, I hand him a service order and head out
>as I'm heading home, one of the roads is blocked off
>ask a cop what happened, says there was a 5-car pile up after a guy T-boned someone about 2 minutes ago
>>
>>18263827
>at my station, typing a script for public communications
>a woman is sitting in the lobby, buying a drink from the vending machine every 20 or so minutes, looks pretty tired with a ratty backpack
>Boss comes in 2 1/2 hours later, tells me to get him out of here
>start to argue for the poor girl, notice Percy is nodding his head in the hall behind him.
>stop mid sentence, agree and head over
>she tells me she doesn't have any place to go, begs me to not do it.
>Percy is floating above the Arbys across the street
>confused, I tell her to head over and ask the people over there
> found out later she saw her mother there, and it was a very touching reunion.
>people at the Arbys think I'm a pretty cool guy
>>
>>18264024
apologies for the time between posts, had to eat dinner.

>Sunday days before St. Patties day
>listening to stupid shit on Youtube
>Percy is sitting on the couch when I look at the clock
>he points toward my glass of pepsi
>obviously confused, look at it, back at him
>gets up, motions for me to follow him out the door
>follow him out, he's in front of the apartment vending machine
>points to the pepsi
>I put a dollar in, trying to figure out the hell he means
>hit the pepsi button, the drink doesn't come out.
>2 hard kicks to the base, the machine starts rattling
>15 seconds later, the machine starts spitting out pepsis.
>a lady from a few doors down is walking past as I'm trying to carry 10 pepsis into my apartment
>she chuckles, asks if she can get a few.
>give her 4, ask if she has plans for St. pattys.
>she ends up joining me and my 3 buddys for a bar crawl
>she ended drink more than any of us

>apologies for the time between posts, had to eat dinner.
No worries, this isn't an interrogation.

The timelines seem to jump all over, and while three incidents have happened at your work place I don't think there is necessarily significant and likely just where you happen to be most often.

Can't really make heads or tails of the aim of these interventions themselves aside from being good-natured, in your vicinity and I guess something others might not notice.

To come to a frank conclusion maybe silently knowing certain things but being unable to do much about them compels a need to assist through you, and the times that assist you are to encourage cooperation.
>>
>>18264109
>it's new years eve
>I'm sitting with my family watching the show
>glass of wine in hand, I notice Percy standing next to my mother
>she's laughing, he's silently chuckling
>when he stops, he points toward the stairwell
>I excuse myself, head for the stairwell, hear there's someone muttering
>stop 2 steps from the landing
>hear my cousin, Shella, cursing and quietly crying
>head up, sit next to her, start talkin
>after a good bit of crying, she tells me her parents are divorcing
>console her, offer some guidance, and tell her a joke and a story she start smiling again, get her back to the party
>Shella actually sends me a letter thanking me a month later
>>
>>18264144
well currently, I'm going backwards to try and find a pattern in the time or logic behind it.

>Its 2 days before thanksgiving of last year
>the staff is having a party to celebrate
>I've signed on to bring a turket and potato salad (call me a dick all you like, people actually seem to like my potato salad.)
>turkey is in the oven, ill make the potato salad later
>have a good bit of down time, and notice my apartment looks like shit.
>vacuum, clean the windows, take down the last of the Halloween decorations I'm too lazy to get down.
>get a call from my friend Tommy, talks shit for about half an hour, then asks if I can help him move a T.V. into his place
>tell himi certainly can, throw a shirt and shoes on, and start to head out
>Percy is stand in front of my door
>one slightly girly yelp later, I see he's fanning himself like he's hot
>after a minute, he motions to take a deep whiff
>smell the turkey and a hint of smoke
>turns out the pan I had the turkey in was leaking. the grease was just starting to smoke.

Speaking of holidays, that reminds me. So nothing in particular happens around your birthday?
>>
>>18264486
well, I've only been talking about the times he's actually done something. he does pop up more often than this, but he only points me in certain directions on rare occasion.
>>
>>18264536
That just complicates things, he can appear at will he just doesn't always feel willing to direct you.
I doubt any amount of reflection will piece together an explanation, so it's back to learning sign language or charades and having what passes for a discussion.
>>
>>18263475

From what I've been told - though obviously I can't speak for it myself - I've heard that many if not most who don't make it to birth tend to 'get back in line' as it were. That's kind of sad to think of some ending up in such a state, but then again, maybe they want to look after the people they chose to live life near. That doesn't seem so bad to me, if it's a matter of choice like that - though I can of course only speculate. If they age and the like, they wouldn't just be ghosts in the usual sense, in any case.

In any case, it wouldn't surprise me at all if someone committed to a life not fully lived with the intention being the lessons it would bring to others. I suppose I'll stop there because there's no need to derail a thread by going past pure theorizing.
