They swing, they miss and from their personal perspective it's just a single small loss, but to the spectators there for the long run eventually as all these folk go one after the other without commercial break you get is a sight of thousands of batters flailing ineptly until the entire act becomes a mockery of the spectacle it was trying to accomplish.

Eventually that 1% can and will strike by determination or sheer chance, but either way once the magic moment sparks the crowd forgets everything else and goes wild.
Having seen or heard the legends a thousand fresh and old participants line up to be part of the next cycle, and the next, and the next.

You see it in cheap knockoff movies, shows, games, etc. It's not new and no matter how old it gets it's not going to stop. Best to just not participate.

The actual native American skin walkers actually can shapeshift according to their legends. But I have no idea why you'd care to 'capture' one of those since they are nothing to really be afraid of as far as I know.
