What does It mean? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks

It looks like a closeup snowflake falling above a basketball.

I also noticed, that it has 8 sticks sticking out of it, I don't know if it's a coincidence but that number has followed me my whole life, my son was born in August (8 th month) my daughter was born on a day 8 my birthday is the 26 (2+6 =8 ) my other son was born on the 4th (4*2) you get the jist, I'm not very into paranormal stuff but I have wondered my whole life what it means. Thank you for the symbol and it's name. I really appreciate it.

It look like a special snowflake...
Op here again, I also forgot to mention that Everytime I dream this symbol it feels itchy, and burns sorta like an insect sting. I'm genuinely curious as to what it might mean, I'm still trying to look up more about but still no results so far.
It's Ægishjálmur. (The Helmet of Ægir) It's a nordic rune used to guard one's self against enemies and bad spirits. It originates from a legend where a young hero carved it onto his helmet before going into battle with a dragon.

How interesting, why would I want to be protected?
>>18259943
I thought it was helm as in the helm of a ship, rather than protection it was more of guidance

Maybe you had a tat of this in a last life
>>18259956
Maybe, I've always had this reoccurring dream ever since I was about 8 , the symbol is always on the back of my hand, or on my palm, and sometimes on the underside of my arm

No matter if you find the meaning or not, go ahead and ink yourself at some point, so that you don't break the chain.
