How do i become enlightened

First think to yourself, why do you want to become enlightened?

Get a motive. Make it strong.

to gain wisdom one must gain the experience of life itself, see everything for what it is and how it interconnects with everything in the world around you, obtain a holistic view of it all if you will. when i look at my hand i dont just "see" my hand i see it and everything around it, in multiple facets of it. several different perspectives. the more open-minded you are about your surroundings the more information you are capable of gathering. instead of being extremely "democratic" or extremely "republican" for example you must think like both or even further in depth.
Nietzsche once said if you peer long into the abyss, the abyss peers also into you.
enlightenment or that EUREKA moment where everything suddenly makes sense is what i feel would adequately describe the verb of being enlightened

Enlightenment is already your true nature. That's it. That's the final line. You are that, already always and forever. It is impossible for that not to be the case.

It's like saying that perfection could be imperfect or was imperfect or will be imperfect. Perfection is the default state of reality. It is your default state of being now. It could never be any other way.

Well, here you are. And you are too full of crap. Full of fantasies, full of ideas, full of beliefs, full of emotional hangups. So you've got too much obscuring your view to see how perfect it all already is. So you come here and ask stupid questions like how to be enlightened. But you're only asking these questions because you're misguided. Enlightenment is already the case.

I tried doing some meditation techniques I found recently.
I've done some light meditation before but decided to try a technique called "The Great Mother".

I felt like shit earlier tonight so I decided that imagining an impossibly beautiful woman that breathes my bad feels and turns it into "liquid healing" sounded pretty appealing at that moment.

Following the easy steps I quickly fell into my usual trance-like state and started to imagine the Great Mother hugging me.
I felt her arms around me, but as I though about all the sad things that had happened to me recently, she started eating on my forehead.

All pity for myself disappeared and was quickly replaced with newfound fear as I hugged this thing that tried to eat it's way into my brain.

I stopped meditating after a few seconds, her presence still haunting me, the mental image burned into my memory. What did I do wrong, /x/? Am I such a sad fucker that the Great Mother sends her disturbed zombie-sister my way instead of helping me?
