Because its real. Just because the majority of humanity can't see into the invisible worlds of reality doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Think of it like /x/, most people are just sipping from the glass of philosophy or in this case the paranormal/super natural. When it comes to telling them some blatant truth, to do the research, to study ancient texts, to meditate, or that they have to change their entire lifestyle to engage in higher spiritual faculties, they simply berate you.
