I'd think what most disturbing is the idea of the universe being as simple as "You do good, you go to white place in the sky where you can have margaritas with everyone you knew who died before you." and "You do bad, you go to scary place with fire and darkness and you stay there forever".

Or how about the idea of nothingness after death? Pair that with the recent speculation that maybe aliens don't visit because all aliens killed themselves through inner conflict before they got old enough to do so.

Hah not at all. I'm pretty sure my psychosis had the most disturbing idea a human mind in todays world can think of.

I basically thought that at some point after my death my end destination was a place where I basically suffer the pain that has been experienced by all beings in this entire universe. If I feared the pain would get twice as bad it would get twice as bad, if I would fear it will get hundred times as bad it would be so.

You get the idea. Oh and to round it all off I thought that every concsiousness in existence was constantly watching, seeing it as the source of joy for all existence basically. Because joy has to come from someone suffering I thought.

Now tell me that is not the most disturbing idea imaginable by a human mind with todays limits.

Oh I forgot to add that I thought that this would be my eternal resting place and that the pain would be constant. As if all the suffering of one universe were to be packed into a single ever repeating moment that just increases exponentially.

I'm pretty proud that I managed to transmute this state of mind that constantly worries about suffering after death and constantly feels guilty into feeling euphoric and happpy most of the time.
