Give me your best urban legends, unexplained mysteries, innawoods shit, paranormal hot spots, and eldritch adventures to explore in Oregon.
>>
Oregon native here. Don't really know anything spooky as in haunted.

The Oregon Dunes give off weird vibes though. Especially if you're there at night and away from the campfire when the sand starts to phosphoresce.
>>
>>18223939
I'll check that out, thanks.

I figured there wouldn't be much in the way of haunted and occult shit, that seems to be more of an east coast thing. There was a lot of native tribes 'round these parts, tho, and I'll be damned if Natives didn't have some powerful magic and ancient secrets. I wonder if there's any sacred caves around?
>>
>>18223986
Any caves with artifacts are hidden and off limits to tourists and even their locations hidden.

Oregon Caves National Monument is a pretty cool place to check out. It's got jaguar bones. Signatures from early explorers that have been calcified over. Some strenuous climbing though.

Lots of cool lava caves on the east side.

Again, nothing spoopy though.
>>
>>18224005
It doesn't have to be spoopy, just mystical and eldritch.
>>
There's a lot of spooky stuff in southern and northern Washington. try looking there.
>>
>>18224022
*Eastern whoops.
>>

>>18224025
should have made the thread /x/ PNW. Yu have any specifics?
>>
I heard there's some occult shit that goes on in the steam tunnels underneath Eugene where the uni is but I don't know any details.
>>
I have heard from someone who lived in Ashland that Lithia Park is haunted. I don't remember the details though.

Not exactly paranormal but I have been to the Oregon Vortex. Even if it is all optical illusions and angles and shit, it's still kind of a neat way to spend an otherwise boring afternoon.
>>
>>18224043
Washington Native BTW... there's a small town called Yacolt surrounded by huge amounts of forestry. the forest is known to be "haunted" or some shit... I believe it has one of the biggest wild fires recorded in the state. with like 30 people dead.
>>
>>18224082
oooooh
>>
>>18224087
yeah, its called the "yacolt burn"
>>
>>18224095
definitely checking this out.
>>
>>18224082
I've passed through yacolt a few times when camping or hunting. Nothing too strange has happenned other than weird standoffish vibes from the people I've interacted with. Apparently there's a lot of bunners living out there, huge families with like 10-15 kids each and fundamentalist lutheran beliefs that forbids tv and computers and drinking.

Found this article too:

I was born and raised in Ashland, nothing spooky about Lithia Park, just serenity.

I danced in a summer thunderstorm with a bunch of traveling hippies one night a few years back, it was magical
>>
>>18223889
I don't know of anything specifically spooky but walking around Eugene/Springfield (especially at night, obviously) is kind of scary as it's dark and full of fucked up meth heads. Springfield especially has kind of a ghost town feel to it.

Weren't some of the older Victorian houses in Portland said to be haunted though?
>>
>>18224081
I grew up in ashland also. the story of lithia being haunted is actually old and fairly well known, being listed in haunted locations collections here and there.

the story goes that in the 1800s a young girl was raped and murdered in an area that is somewhere in or near the modern park, and that her ghost shows up periodically.

never saw her, myself, but the deeper areas of the park can seem fairly creepy on particularly dark nights.
>>
>>18225122
apparently Amazon park in Eugene is haunted by the ghost of a young boy that comes out after midnight.
>>

Winston, OR has an apartment complex near the cemetery. I along with 2 or 3 other people I've spoken with over the years experienced mad Ayyylmao activity in the complex, with deep blue lights flashing at night shutting all power off. Looking out the window to the cemetery, there was even someone who said they saw a few waddling around near the fences.
>>
It's full of rabid lefties

Truly no greater horror
>>
>>18225122
Lived in Springfield for awhile down the street from that high school that got shot up. Next to this huge mountain scared the shit at of myself a few times before i realized the wild life was making noises. Bears scare me

Portlandfag here, the city's soul shines through sometimes.

We've got haunted underground tunnels in the city. People were supposedly kidnapped and taken through there. Never been down there myself though. I should take a trip one of these days.

Unrelated, but one of the more important Hellboy stories is set in Portland. Makes me pretty happy.

There was an /x/phile who found an entrance to a private road in the middle of the forest somewhere in the northwest (I think it was Oregon).

It was decorated with an Egyptian style statue and some type of sign, in the middle of dense forest. He had pictures of it. Everything about it was 100% Eyes Wide Shut, it was really creepy.

Anyone have the screencap?
>>
>>18228904
No, but I do remember. I think it was in Eugene Oregon.

Portland has a huge human trafficking problem actually.

It's why that Dennys downtown chooses at like 1am. I think it's the only one that isn't 24/7

In the back of all those sketchy looking strip clubs. You know the tiny ones that look like houses with hand painted signs that say shit like "private modeling shows" and that one on 82nd that's half assedly disguised as a tanning salon.

I think I've actually seen that place off the freeway! I'm in Boise but I drive to Ontario all the time and I remember a jutting hill sticking out over the horizon when you pass that first rest stop. You can see something like that in the distance, it really stands out.
