I see a blue cube floating in space, it is approached by a young lass. A cute one at that if I do say so myself. She examines this cube that appears to be spinning, blue, and almost translucent. It floats in the centre of a white room and has a mysterious quality to it.

I see layers and layers of soft pillows and comforters making a "soft lasagna" if that makes any sense. Like layers of pillows, blankets, and comforters forming a large tiered structure that looks hella warm and comfy. Almost walks the line of wanting to lie down in in or to dig in to eat it. I see bilogical lifeforms replicated by machinery. A bird made entirely of machine parts flies overhead a whale of the same properties emerging from a dark ocean. It's a strange world here but oddly pretty. A mix between natural and programmed.

To me this may seems to suggest one of two things, one that things will be an odd balance of intution and utiliarian thought in terms of love like attraction blended with personal concerns and issues of value. Stalling authority and positions of power. Not really much of a vision on this one instead it was mostly feelings. I got the image of a feudal lord sitting in a chair. Looked like an old school shogun. Brace yourself this is a weird one.

I get the vision of a large bird pecking at the ground. It looks like a bright red roadrunner or ostrich looking thing. The point it it looks fairly flightless or less "traditional bird"-like than most birdies. It specks ar the ground perhaps looking for food. It has an intentional element to it but also a "run of the mill" feel to it. Like the idea of seeking to ste one's hunger, it's an immediate concern, but also mundane if you stop to think about it. Not sure if the red means anything significant, but it's an almost reddish orange shade of a bird.

So I'm standing in a sort of crater... more like a caldera. Sand/dirt is reddish. I'm looking up at the moon, or at least about 2/3-1/2 of it, and it's really, really close. There is a wind coming. Leaves shaped like stars blow in it.

There is a set that seems to be made out of black cloth, think a backdrop for a kid's play. It has gaps in it under layers of fabric, but is so well put together that it'd be hard to push the fabric aside and find one. It'd be even harder to squeeze through without tearing it.

I see it sitting on stage. There is a light. I don't know if there is an audience, but aside from the light it is dark. There is a sense of waiting.

There is a blue crescent made of something between a semi-clear stone and water. A silver cloud threatens rain. There is a heavy sort of metaphysical weight to it.

Buffalo run across grass, and I feel like we're back near the crater. The buffalo are marked with white lightning bolts in their fur.

The thing here is that you should try extra decks that you can connect with on that same level. I guarantee you there'll always be a goto deck, even if you can use others.

For me, I use the Rider-Waite, Golden Dawn, Marseille & Ghosts tarot, but I always end up going back to either my Golden Dawn or Rider-Waite packs.

I'm predominantly Rider-Waite, mind you, because it also seems to be the most universally understood pack by querrents who aren't familiar with tarot altogether. But the Golden Dawn deck to me is like the Thoth deck to others.

I know that the Fairies decks revolve around the Rider-Waite system & that their art is geared towards people who have strong inclinations towards nature- based occultism. I'm not familiar with the Moon deck.

Now, the problem with the Golden Dawn & Thoth decks is that they're each geared towards actual magic systems (Rosicrucianism & Thelema, respectively). The Rider-Waite deck is a more Christianised version of the Golden Dawn deck (different art, but exact same card meanings,) while the Thoth deck is an entirely different animal altogether (with art that disguises the actual rituals & teachings of Thelema, as well as altered card names & meanings). The strongest deck for divination is the Rider-Waite, but the strongest deck for actual occult practices is the Thoth deck (it tells things bluntly & readers who tend to lean towards the left-hand path prefer it over the Rider-Waite for some reason). At least this is my general observance, but there are exceptions to everything.

Then anything goes, man. In terms of magic practices, Rider-Waite & Golden Dawn decks are used for RHP-type rituals (theurgia & enochian associations). The Thoth deck is used for LHP-type rituals (goetic & enochian associations).

The Deviant Moon deck, though; I looked that one up & it's just a Rider-Waite clone with altered art. Now, if you're fine with the art of that deck, or the art in the Tarot of the Witches (a.k.a.: the 007 deck from Live & Let Die,) then all you'd have is a Rider-Waite deck with modernist taste in art. Make what you will of the art in your system & use that to your advantage.

Also, for the Thoth deck, there's the book Liber 78 (or the Book of Thoth) & Liber Theta (a corruption of the Golden Dawn's Book T, adapted by the Ordo Templi Orientis to help as an aid for using the Thoth deck).

The Golden Dawn deck has the same meanings as the Rider-Waite, so Book T, the Pictorial Key to the Tarot & A Manual of Cartomancy work well. If you can't stand the language of the last two books, there's also a book for the Golden Dawn deck called The Magical Tarot of the Golden Dawn.

We've been friends for 15yrs, he's my longest standing friend to date. We had a falling out for 2 of those years, but we reconnected. You're right, what we share is rarely spoken, and as guys usually do, we don't voice our love for one another.
