Relationships are hard. Don't get me wrong, my girlfriend is great, it's just that her family has always caused problems for us. They've never approved of me and always have drama bullshit going on. Recently her father died, which has been hard on her, and I've done my best to support her. I've got my own life and own problems, though.

It's tough, you know? But mostly we get on great. I went over to her place to spend time with her, a little Netflix and chill, just casual. One thing leads to another and we're making out, hot and heavy, and I get a call. I've got important work shit going on, so I excuse myself to take it. Sure enough, it's her fucking dad, going all, "What are you doing with my daughter?!" I just hung up, because fuck that jerk. I ought to tell my girl to get her parents to leave me be.

A handful of these are... OKAY I guess, but most of them are "spot the plothole in my creepypasta" level of writing. It's a fun idea, crappy execution.

We use ground floor and first floor interchangeably.

I always hated our house's basement as a kid. The stairs got almost no light from above, and the light switch was all the way at the bottom of the stairs. Worst of all, though, was that we had those wooden stairs with no backing. I always felt like someone could just reach through and grab me. It was always a relief when my parents came down instead. They made fun of me for it, though. They never understood how scary dark basements are when you're a kid.

I never liked Halloween. Guess it goes back to the first Halloween I can remember. My sisters and I were so excited to go trick-or-treating. Jenny dressed up like a princess and Melissa had a great pirate costume. I was a ghost. We went house to house ringing doorbells, but because of my reputation (used to cause a lot of trouble in the neighborhood) I didn't get any candy. My sisters got compliments on their costumes and Snickers bars, but the neighbors wouldn't even look me in the eye. Yeah, I know, life's unfair, but there are some things you never recover from and I'll never enjoy Halloween.

October's here. Starting to get cold. It's always disappointing, my friends and I love summer. September's not too bad, but come October you have to face the fact, winter's on the way.

So we decided to have one last bash today. We went down to the beach, had a nice big bonfire, lots of drinks. We even buried Steve neck deep in the wet sand, he couldn't move a muscle! Lots of laughs. We left him stuck there as a prank, but don't worry, we didn't abandon him. It's only been like five hours, we're planning to go get him in a bit. Ahh... can't wait until next summer.

I hate walking past the old Franklin house at night. Ever since they moved away without telling anyone a few months ago, it's been abandoned and uncared-for. Yet, even still... I always get the strange sense it's no empty.

Tonight I was walking past under a street light. I looked over and thought I saw something in a first story window. I blinked; there was a figure in the first-story window of the house, looked like a man with a black ski mask, staring back through the glass at me, with a knife in his hand.

I shuffled into a jog and got nearly an entire block before I slowed and stopped, feeling ridiculous. After mentally kicking myself, I resolved to go back and look, just to prove to myself that I was being silly.

I crept around the window at a little distance with my phone flashlight, shining it through the window. The room was empty. In fact, the room's door was boarded up from the inside. What I saw was impossible. I breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled to myself as I pulled the window back down and started walking home again. The things your imagination does to you on a long walk home in the dark!

7 - this one sucks. obviously his girlfriend is some kind of inanimate object. a blow-up doll? a pile of dirty laundry? there isn't enough information and it's not clear why this would be "spooky" except i guess the narrator is retarded and / or batshit.

20 - with most apartments, somebody who didn't have a key to your place could still lock the door but only from the inside. the intruder is waiting in the bedroom and the narrator is about to go to sleep. but why'd they ransack the kitchen, and why'd they bother to lock the door? it's still a bit random. maybe it's a squatter and they ate his food and are sleeping in his bed? maybe the intruder grabbed a butcher knife and is waiting to kill narrator? we'll never know what the brilliant author was thinking.

I witnessed a horrible accident today. I wanted to cross the street and was waiting for the light to turn green when a man bumped into me. He didn’t even say sorry. I was about to give him a piece of my mind and tell him to watch where he was going, but then I noticed he had a cane. He didn’t seem elderly. There must have been something wrong with his legs. Just then, my phone started ringing. The high-pitched ringtone is really annoying. Before I could answer it, there was a screech of tires and a dull thud. The man who bumped into me was lying in the middle of the street in a pool of blood. His sunglasses were lying nearby, cracked and broken. The driver got out and yelled, “He just jumped out right in front of me!” The driver thought it was a suicide, but I think the man was just clumsy and didn’t look where he was going. It was his own fault. He should have been more careful.
