I've heard a lot of people get spooked by this book
I even bought it but never bothered reading it
>>
>>18172248
Scary as hell, no lie.

I mean, it's totally B.S. but still conceivably real.
>>
>>18172248
That book cover stares at something deeper than your soul I swear.
>>

Greys are nothing compared to the reality of the Annunaki (Satan)

I'm scared to read this book.

Eh, it's ok. Not really too scary, and obvious bullshit, but it is a fun read.

It's a lot of "I saw some weird lights and had sleep disorders and then went to the hypnotist who said aliens put a metal pinecone in my ass" type stuff.

The most interesting part is the part he sadly pulls a lovecraftian "it was too horrible to recount" -- where he claims he went missing for several months, and implies he went to the alien homeworld. Basically skips over the whole ordeal though, like I said.
>>
Fire In The Sky is kind of slow but the alien abduction and encounter scenes are top tier

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

"Fourth kind" movie spooped me years ago. Right now it wouldn't spoop me much as I watched too much creepy stuff and got desensitized. I still find certain owls creepy because of it thou.
>>
>>18172248
Read it in high school and scared the bejeebus out of me.
Read it post-college and I could see right though Strieber's bullshit. Into the trash it went. GOAT creepy cover, though.

I just found out the guy also wrote Wolfen. Can't hate on him too much.

>>18174238
Literally just watched it a few weeks ago. I thought the "it's real" gimmick was insulting the way it was pulled off and the ancient aliens angle felt like it was trying to blow your mind with an idea that's been around forever, but it had some good spoopy moments ("did you listen to your tape?" = best one).

>>
>>18176372
Yeah me too, I mean it scared me shitless but I wanted to see, I wanted to watch what happened even though I was clinging to the sofa like it was a life raft.

What I find unusual is that travis walton doesn't mention all the details that appear in the movie. According to him it was a much less terrifying experience.
>>
>>18176330
Written by a horror writer who claims it really happened to. Bestseller and popularized abductions. It's written like a horror novel, is super creepy, but it's kind of transparent because of that. He's obviously writing something meant to scare, despite the positive message within. Author is Catholic and laces the whole book with religious themes. He wrote a shitload of "sequels" in the same manner.
>>
the funny thing about travis walton is, still alive, didn't age.

It's by far the scariest alien related movie scene.
Everything is so fucked up and weird, yet real enough to actually be possible.
>>
>>18176396
sso true, happened to me when I was a kid, I remember even seeing aliens in the dark, was not able to sleep alone for years.

took me multiple years before I was able to rewatch it, and I felt horrified to the bones.

but then I grew out of the fear of the greys. now I can watch a grey documentary showing theming them peeping through a window in the dark and i'm like mehhhh.

I'm kind of split about wether to fear them them or to like them.
I mean if they are that advanced technologically, they could have estroyed humanity long time ago.

I feel if they existed,, they would act like we do with animals, we protect them, and don't want the rich people to hunt them.
>>
>>18176567
can you believe that movie was released in 1993?
how come, even today they cannot induce as much fear as those old movies?
>>
>>18176626
They try to make things too futuristic, instead of what makes these things really scary and interesting: alien.
>>
>>18175356
It's good until the aliens show up.

The film builds some really good spooky atmosphere, and then these aliens straight out of balloonia turn up and ruin all the tension.
>>
>>18176353
Fire in the sky is an abduction film done right.

It's a difficult subject, because most of the terror is confined to one scene, but god damn that one scene in fire in the sky is so good.

Hah I watched this a few weeks ago. Reasonably tense, but I hate all the horror cliches and alien tropes that littered it. If was basically Night of the Living Dead with aliens.

I have the original McPherson Tape sitting on my hard drive but haven't felt like watching it once I saw the remake.

I don't think it's that special. It's pretty much the remake only with less money and characters and setpieces. Let me know if it's any good.

>"[A]ll they wanted [was] a good stallion to improve their stock," Boas would say. He said that he enjoyed the encounter, even if the woman refused to kiss. Bruce Rux remarked that after all, he had just thrown up. Instead the "woman" preferred to bite his chin, while making sounds, that in Boas' mind, sounded like "animal growls." She never spoke.

Sweet Jesus, what the hell is this recount of that? Is this a recollection or a porno?

Why do people find the alien on the cover scary? It looks quite motherly, almost kind.
>>
>>18177660

The original is better than the remake. No commentary, no 'super spoopy creepy kid', no shitty special effects, and it actually has moments of creepiness. The shitty late 80's/early 90's camcorder quality actually works in its favor, and it's one of the few cases of a found footage movie where it makes sense that someone keeps filming the entire time; partly because he's playing with his new camcorder (when those were impressive new gadgets), and partly because he's documenting actual aliens fucking with his family.

It's good enough that some people to this day are convinced it's real footage of aliens abducting a family one by one, even though the aliens briefly seen are obviously people in costumes.

>>18187174

It's making the same smile as the Mona Lisa. And it's creepy because of the uncanny valley.

i dont think he was lying, he was just so PTSD'd from the whole thing and was disorented when he got home when every greedy jouranlist scumbag was looking for a lifetime meal ticket, and tried to use him for that, and couldnt get it, then bitched he was a fraud. i think most people would be so traumatized by the whole thing they would be a jumble for years after, unless their flight or fight response went full on WARGARBL BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, U WANNA FITE ME M8, I SWER 2 CRIST I WILL FUKN SOK U INNA GABBER I DO ON ME MUMS LIF, then we would be euthanized by them for being dangerous.

Strieber is a filthy liar. DOn't bother with anything related to him.
>>
>>18175374

The best in this movie is that Walken's performance annoyed Strieber to the point where Strieber went to Walken and told him he was acting "too cuckoo" and Walken answered, "If it fits the shoe..." I'm positive Walken saw through the bullshit and had fun portraying Strieber as a loon.

With that in mind, the film is a masterpiece, with some truly insane moments, but don't think for a second it's anything real.
>>

>What I find unusual is that travis walton doesn't mention all the details that appear in the movie. According to him it was a much less terrifying experience.

Unusual? Hollywood realised the real thing was too tame for a movie, so they asked the screenwriter to make it more exciting. They made it into a horror film.

That's not unusual, it's not a conspiracy. Travis didn't have any of that shit in his experience and they made it up to get a more impacting movie.
>>
>>18177230
>>18189739
I personally don't care about whether it's "true" or not, since I'm a skeptic and most Hollywood "Based on a true story!" movies are full of bullshit for the sake of selling tickets, but it was a damned good movie. Forget about whether it's true or not and just enjoy it.
