Whats does /x/ think of Shadow People?
Has anyone had an encounter?
What's it like when in the presence of one (or many)?
Did you see the Hat Man or something similar to that of the Hat Man?
Were you under the influence of DPH or some other drug that causes these to appear?

I just recently got fascinated by shadow people and I'm curious to see what x has to say.

When I was in the Navy I would see them out of the corner of my eye on the ship all the time. I never knew much about them. I always come across conflicting information. I too would like to hear more.

How many hours a day did you stay up for in the Navy, because I hear if you're an insomniac or something like that, that shit with shadow people can occur often. Your mind could be playing tricks on you and so you see things in the corners of your eyes. Being an insomniac myself, I've never experienced this, surprisingly, but I have this subconscious thought that I would love to see these shadow people, but I fear seeing them at the same time as it would seem terrifying, but interesting nonetheless. I'd honestly would like to hear more from this board

That is an interesting point. Operation Specialists tend to develop insomnia due to the "6 on 6 off" schedule at see. not much sleep is to be had because you still have to eat, bathe, shave, and find time for entertainment. I'm still an insomniac, but I only ever saw them on the ship. The ship had seen some action in the past. Let me do some more research on the topic.
>>
I only get them while sleepy and dehydrated. I love being a little unhealthy because all the blips and missed steps turn into spooky shit that matches up with all the spooky shit threads

You peripherals fail, and since your so used to having figures of humans in your vision, it just sends its "activated" signal to your cortex which just puts out it's moist familiar data, being the humanoid shape.

But we're all in our own subjective realities here, so if you deem them shadow people and nothing else can prove you different, then shadow people they are.

This.

I've had multiple shadow people encounters starting when I was as young as 6 years old. (27+ now)

Ive been seeing shadow frogs hopping around for the past few weeks. What does it mean?
>>
im not buying the peripheral vision idea, they are seen by people of all ages, drugs and without drugs, and oftenly they arent in the peripheral of your vision
i see the comforting idea about them just being a peripheral glitch although

DXM should be really good at causing shadow people to appear, question is can we figure out WHY it causes you see shadow people?
>>
>>18146490
I suffered from insomnia (i'm good now thanks to ganja) and I never saw any shadow people. I'd be up for days at a time, and usually get maybe 3-4 hours of sleep in between. Not discounting any theories, just skeptical to a small degree. I saw a movie about shadow people and sleep paralysis was also a factor I believe, according to the movie at least.

It means you're going to die by the year's end. Shadow frogs are an ancient Sumerian omen believed to foretell one's death in the near future. Good luck and God speed, anon, you'll soon step off into the great unknown.
>>
OP here
>>18146553
I'd like to add onto what you've said. I've listened to documentaries on shadow people and some have been linked to sleep paralysis. What I believe is that when a person goes into sleep paralysis, they think someone is sitting on their chest and they imagine it, like you said, however in reality, they're suffocating themselves, in a way. Just my theory on it.

I haven't heard of shadow frogs, but it does seem like an interesting topic. I'll look into it

>>18147164
I see where you're coming from, but I think it might have to do with what >>18146553 is saying, since DXM does make you hallucinate things that aren't really there.

If it may seem like I'm uncertain in some things, it's because I am. I'm just as curious as anyone else and like everyone else, I have my own theories on what could be and what could not be
>>
:P Guess I'm the only classicist. If you did see them, maybe they're Shades or Remnants of the fallen of your ship. For us it would make sense not being able to fully perceive them of what they want was given a lot of stories about the underworld or land of shadows tell us the souls get literally scrubbed.

Knows it sounds dangerous but would love to test something out found in ancient texts. Dig a ditch in a "shadow-people place", let the blood of a sheep or pig drain into it, quickly get into a circle with salt, and maybe have some stones to trap entice then trap them (synchitis and anachitis or what they're called I think.)

Know that sounds mean but would help answer a lot of questions.

And it's a big debate, cause does these hallucinogens make you see false things, let's you see real things, or a mix there of? Maybe by being in that akward enhanced state we see this blur of our false reality, true reality and fantasy.

That's a really interesting point. If more people would join in on this thread, then I think we'd be given more potential answers than unanswered questions.

I talked to a Shadow person one.
He told me to leave him alone.

I've had numerous encounters with shadow people.

There was a time when i constantly would seem them. In the beginning i would only see them every so often but as more time went on they became constant. It transitioned from being an annoyance to scary pretty quick. after a few months of this it became obvious there were malicious overtones to there presence. it wasn't just out of the corner of my eyes, near the end i would literally see them crawling around and lurking outside at night. but then i eventually went to rehab for meth and they immediately disappeared after my first nights sleep.

>shadow people are a purely psychological phenomenon that occurs when you are sleep deprived and your body is stressed. /thread

tl;dr not real
>>
>>18146280
This is a very normal hallucination when you're tired and it's a little dark. Happens to alot of people all the time. Nothing paranormal about it sadly.
