So is it true that when you witness Eldritch God, you die because your mind cannot comprehend it?

The Human mind, thoroughly accustomed and shaped by three dimensional reality breaks under the strain of trying to comprehend a four plus dimensional being. You don't die on the spot but you will eventually go insane to the point where you might as well be dead.

Basically what I'm saying is that you go catatonic because the more you try to comprehend it the less you understand and the more confused you become.

The true cause of our reaction - whether it be horror, disgust, becoming insane or what have you - is the amount of value and heft we put on such creatures; because these ideas, often preconceived, make them appear all the more horrible to us, because we make them so.

Think about it. A piece of rock wouldn't give them the satisfaction of scaring somebody. They need sufficiently sentient life forms to give their existence any meaning or value.

In short, they can fuck right off.
