Nations have to hold massive dollar reserves for oil transactions which means the USA can print as muchmoney as it likes knowing that it won't be spent, that the cheque won't be cashed.

If the petrodollar falls, all these cheques will effectively be cashed at one and the artificially deflated U.S. economy will spiral into hyperinflation. The country would be bankrupt overnight.
