It's in business and shit
up in the woods in british columbia
we never stayed there overnight, instead we camped
but we went in for breakfast

This one always fucks me up

I have a story. It's actually a dream I had, but the memory of it haunts me. I want to believe I made this story up, but to avoid that exact mindset, I wrote down the details immediately after waking up from this dream. I'm not sure many of you will believe me, actually. I swear, everything I am about to say is true.

The dream began as most dreams do, as an uneventful story or memory. In this case, I was with my friends, sitting around a small table in their side yard. We regularly hung out around here when I was at his house, so this was perfectly normal. I can't recall the specifics of what was going on here, because this is what I refer to as the "normal" dream. Everything I remember, felt, and experienced was not unusual for a dream. The interesting part came when this dream transitioned into the next.

It's hard to describe, and perhaps this has more to do with lucid dreaming, but in a regular dream, there's this...noise. Not like sound, but background movement, color, basically a whole lot going on that you're not paying attention to. I'm sure you all know what I mean. I guess static would be a better word. Well, as this dream progressed, the static faded. I felt like everything was peeling away. I say "feel like" because it wasn't literally peeling away from me, but it was a feeling that the world around me was expiring. My friends, who were all joking and laughing before, turned to be. They looked terrified. "You shouldn't be here," said one of them. I didn't understand. Did he want me to leave? "You need to go, you shouldn't be here. Go down the driveway. Run to the road. Don't stop. Keep running." These were very specific directions, and I followed them without hesitation. At this point, I was vaguely aware that this was a dream. There was no dream static, and I remembered events in order. This wasn't a bunch of random memories, this was a linear story.

At the end of my friend's driveway, there would normally be a road that curved, a she lived on a circle. However, I found myself staring at another house. It was an old, southern-style house, with a wraparound porch that was totally screened in. The driveway and my friend's house were gone. There was nothing but trees now. I drew closer to the house, compelled by curiosity. Again, the way time moved in this dream, and the way I saw, felt, and remembered everything was not normal, This was much more vivid. In almost all my dreams, I play the role of an outside observer who occasionally becomes a person in the dream, but here, I was me. I was myself, experiencing this place and able to feel and hear things. I was scared by this fact alone. What came later would haunt me forever.

As I approached the house, I noticed that there many people standing on the porch. They were all looking at me. They were all dressed in beige clothes, the same exact color as the house. Suddenly, an old woman appeared on my left, approaching me. She looked otherworldly. She was dressed in a long, yellow gown, and her face was quite round, with large cheekbones and enormous eyes, like an insect's. Her dark hair was tied up in a bun. From now on, I'll refer to her as the Dream Mother. "Do you want to come in?" she asked me, smiling. I was pretty on edge, but, nodding, I followed her up the steps. The steps themselves were narrow, as was the door. I looked at the people on the porch, but they were looking away from me now. Some of them were talking, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. The Dream Mother opened the front door, revealing a small, narrow hallway inside. She invited me to go in ahead of her, which I did.

The walls were very dark wood, and the entire hall was dimly lit. There was red carpeting on the floor. She shut the door and asked me which room I wanted. I was confused, as I didn't know what she meant. Did she want me to stay?

I came to the first door, which was on my left, and opened it. The room inside was very small, with a single bed that would only be big enough for a small child. There was a small table beside it, and a tiny light on the ceiling. There was no window. I closed the door and kept walking, opening the next one. Again, the room was extremely tiny. There was no way I could lay down in it and fit. It was more like a closet. I looked back at the Dream Mother, who just nodded and smiled, encouraging me to keep looking for rooms. At this point, I felt extremely uncomfortable. I knew for a fact I was dreaming, but I couldn't make myself wake up. I told her I wanted to leave, and she shook her head. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, find a room, please." Her expression didn't change. I kept walking, albeit a little faster. The hallways were quite narrow, and there weren't many doors, so I wasn't sure I could get away from her if I ran. I came to another door and opened it. This room didn't even have a bed. I kept walking fast down the hall, and turned to see the Dream Mother was falling a bit behind. Realizing I could outrun her, I took off down the hall, running past doors, looking for a way out. Eventually, when I knew she wasn't close enough to find me, I tried a door and opened it, finding a narrow stairwell the went straight down. I quickly went down the stairs and found myself in a room that was actually a room. There was room to walk around in it, but it wasn't a bedroom at all. There were tables and chairs set up, and to my right was a large billiard table. I wanted to say it was some kind of game room. There were windows too. I didn't realize the impossibility of this until after I woke up, of course. I entered on the ground floor. The house was built on flat land. I went down stairs, and yet, there were still windows showing the yard outside.

I heard the door to the stairwell open, and I hid under the billiard table. At this point, I was confused as to why I couldn't wake myself up. This was a dream. It had to be. I knew I was a sleep, so why not let myself get caught and play along until I wake up? Why act like my life was in danger?Still, I kept quiet, listening to the sound of two people walk down the stairs. I didn't see them, but I heard their voices. Both were male.

"Where is he?" said the first.

"He's hiding here," said the second, "and he's trying to wake up."

I couldn't believe what I just heard. I didn't care if it was a dream. I wanted out, and I wanted out now. I climbed out from under the table and ran, ran through the room through another door. I had barely entered the next hallway when the Dream Mother appeared. She looked astonished, as if she heard a small child swear at her. I told her I wanted to go, that I didn't want to stay here any longer. She smiled and tilted her head, looking at me.

"Bye-bye," she said in a taunting, singsong voice. "Bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye..." She repeated this over and over again. Suddenly, everything around me was stripped away. The house, the floor...even my own body seemed to vanish, and I had become a third party observer once again. Only the Dream Mother's face remained, and her repeated taunting. "Bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye..." Her face seemed to melt away now, and the next thirty seconds could only be described as a barrage of horrific, gruesome, flash-screamer worthy imagery. Bloody, rotting faces of people I've never met, face I didn't recognize. Internally, I was screaming, as I didn't have a body, and couldn't react to this in anyway. The images kept flashing, and I kept hearing the Dream Mother's voice, repeating herself over and over.

And then I woke up.

The moment I did, I said, out loud, "Holy shit, I'm awake." I laid there for several minutes, still reeling from what happened.

the weird thing is tho that when i looked under the pillow later it wasn't there anymore. i asked my sisters (they shared the room with me) if either of them cleaned it up and they didn't know what i was talking about
nobody else was at home that day (except my crazy grandma, who only hangs out in her bedroom or the kitchen and would have no reason to go into our room, and definitely wouldn't clean up after us)

I believe one of my storage chests is haunted and/or is a portal to somewhere.

I'm glad you can appreciate the story in a sense.

I was certain then and still am today that it was real. I got over being afraid of it pretty quickly, but I would occasionally empty it out and check for the doll for a few years.

Since it is a family heirloom chest I certainly wouldn't get rid of it, so I kept it. I usually pay it no mind but anytime I go near it I have a general sense of wariness. I still don't fear it though, not unless it opens up again.

Only small things happen in that house, sometimes the piano downstairs plays like 2 notes at the most. People say they've been pushed when walking downstairs but that's the most spoopiest thing that I guess happened to me. That, and I walked upstairs to use the restroom and as I reached for it the door knob jiggled before I touched it and no one was inside.

Not much of a story so I won't bother green texting. I live in Mesa Grande in Arizona and basically me and my neighbors have been seeing really long animals that jump from their hind legs, they scare off easy, but they killed a fuck ton of my neighbors' chickens really quickly the other day.
They leave behind really rough, almost leathery fur (maybe theyre dirty or something?) and really odd jagged circular bite marks. But that's whatever. The thing is they don't eat the animals they kill, they just kill them like for fun, I've started to see some roadkill with the same kind of marks.
Also, I just moved out here 5 years ago, and roadkill is weird as fuck, you see animals you never see alive, like armadillos.
