I have always wondered about that. I've seen people/documentaries talk about the whole idea of conditioning through media and I do think there's some plausibility there, but I don't know the extent of it or the topics/issues "they" would be conditioning the public for.

The most common suggestion I've seen by far is the idea that we're being conditioned for disclosure. I can almost buy into that concept in a very general way but once you start getting into the countless plots of films/shows about extraterrestrials, you find a lot of them which portray the government as the bad guy or at least in a negative light and I don't really see how that would serve the powers that be.

On the other hand, I'm fascinated by subliminals and while you can certainly point out examples across various media of subliminal messaging and its possible agenda, I wonder how much of entertainment and mass media contain these sorts of messages which nobody knows of or knows to look for.

I mentioned in my other post that I'm not a big conspiracy theory guy, but a couple of things seem obvious to me regarding 9/11:

1) The official 9/11 Commission failed to adequately explain and/or address much of what happened during the attacks, two of the most critical being Saudi involvement and WTC7.

2) The US government blatantly, knowingly lied about nuclear weapons Iraq and took advantage of the murder of thousands of US citizens in order to facilitate an invasion and war which otherwise would have had no support. During this same period, I believe it's been sufficiently demonstrated that their claims of having no warnings or any way of knowing about the attack are false.

Taking both of those into consideration, it doesn't require much imagination or any tinfoil to question the official story and explanation, the government's possible foreknowledge/inaction and even possible involvement.

Beyond that, I don't claim to know the truth of all these matters. Too often I see people whok rightly state that the evidence does not support the full veracity of the official story, right before they offer explanations and accusations which often have even less or no supporting evidence. With so many plausible alternate explanations to the official story, I don't think I'll ever understand why so many people create/believe the ones with no legitimate evidence, like the "planes were holograms" idea, for example.

As for the reddit thread, I started feeling uncomfortable reading it because a lot of those posts just seemed.. off. Most of the conversation centered around circlejerking and jokes, some of them in response to posts which had been attempting to address the issue seriously. There's also something weird with so many people repeating that if it were proven to be an "inside job" then Americans would react in the same docile way they do to misbehavior or criminal activity by the government today. Am I alone on this one?

I've never really had a venue in which to express this so I'm going to do it here. This guy is Dr. Steven E. Jones and if you've watched any 9/11 conspiracy documentaries then you're probably familiar with him, his work with the dust from the WTC and the holes he has punched in the official explanation. I have a lot of respect for his tests and research. And I fucking hate this man. Two reasons:

1) I have misophonia, but even if I didn't I would still think that this man deserves to be arrested and imprisoned for the rest of his life because of how fucking CONSTANTLY this fucking piece of shit smacks his fucking mouth when he speaks. Most people do it because they are disgusting animals and don't have the decency to open/close their mouths, wet their lips or swallow without smacking their goddamn mouths. THIS fucking pile of shit will stop mid-sentence for no motherfucking reason at all so he can smack his repulsive facehole. I hope he's performing an experiment one day and somehow thermite gets in his face and obliterates his vile, sickening mouth.

2) If you've seen him explaining his work, oftentimes this guy will get way, way too excited and delighted, absolutely beaming and sometimes joking when talking about the murder of thousands. Yes, I'm aware I'm on 4chan, I find plenty of things funny which should punch my ticket to hell - but seeing him be so wrapped up in himself that he enters some euphoric state while discussing 9/11 just rubs me the wrong way and comes off in really bad taste.

People who were paying attention knew about Osama bin Laden years before the 9-11 attacks. I was in a college criminal justice class in 1998 and I remember watching a video about the threat OBL posed to America. Prince was just more well read than most. The 2001 comment? Seriously, are people still surprised that one of the most iconic buildings in the US were attacked? I mean, come on. Things like the twin towers, the white house or the statue of liberty are being used all the time in films and books as locations for the stories they tell, simply because these locations are popular and very known all across the globe.

note that i still think 9/11 was staged as fuck, i'm just saying that these "predictions" are nothing to that effect, they are simply instances of media using iconic places and people

The minute the second tower was hit I got on the phone to call a friend who's spooky military, figuring he'd be called up and needed to get out of bed (obviously he's not on the east coast). All I said was "turn on the TV, al-q is finally hitting big."

Now I'm starting to think the OBL/al-Q connection was fake though. I've got a lot more trouble thinking they could do something significant when they didn't do anything in particular very well before or since.
