They probably won't want to talk to you if you try to speak with someone you don't know. Ghosts generally only want to converse with either people they knew when they were alive, or with people living in the space that they're occupying (like if a new family moves into a house with a ghost in it).

If it's really gonna kill you to not try, my suggestion is the shoebox telephone. It allows you to sort of make a "call" to a specific person. It's the only summoning ritual I know that can get you into contact with one specific person, but if you don't know him personally (which you obviously don't), there's a higher chance that he simply won't answer you.
