Has anyone else developed a kind of nightmare immunity throughout their life?

It's not that I don't have nightmares, I certainly do and they can make me feel uncomfortable but that's just it, it never goes beyond a sensation of slight unease.

I used to keep a dream journal and avidly try an induce lucid dreams as often as I could. It got to a point where within most of my dreams I would be able to reach at least partial lucidity. Partial in the sense that I knew it was a dream but I also thought I was impressing my friend by flying around despite the friend simply being a character of the dream. Although I no longer keep much of a journal and have not had a good lucid dream for quite some time, whenever things get horrific within my dreams its as if this sense of partial lucidity returns. It is no where near as lucid as I used to get but just enough for me to witness the horrors of my nightmare and subconsciously know that none of it will be of any threat to me.

No longer than a week ago I had a dream where I was within a factory type place being chased by what I can best describe as fleshy geodudes. For those who don't know what geodude is imagine a head with arms coming out where ears should be. These things were so fast using there arms to swing from beam to beam, some rolling after me in a style reminiscent of seizures, others getting up on their two hands and hauling ass at me. In the dream I'm with a friend I know and some other guy both of whom are freaking the fuck out. They are trying to run from these creatures but I'm only really running so we don't get split up. I hardly cared about the things chasing after us and even when we got stopped by a dead end, I literally turned around and faced them as they came at me while subconsciously aware that I would wake up soon.

All nightmares for quite some time now have been like this. Does anyone else have the same experiences? Do you think it's because of witnessing dream lucidity?

Actually it may be worth noting that I first recall this lack of fear from within a lucid dream I had a few years back. I was wandering through my dream fully lucid until I encountered a group of menacing looking guys. I completely forgot I was dreaming and they started doing terrible shit like making me hold a knife by the blade as they yanked it out of my hand. My response to them shredding up my hand was "Hey take it easy man, your going to hurt me if your not careful" rather than the usual panic that would occur should I actually experience a scenario like this.

Yes, I developed it as a child at first by keeping my stuffed animals close by and then later on by developing powers, such that nothing could actually fight me. Thus the only kinds of nightmares I have had over the decades (which are incredibly rare) are ones where I myself am succumbing to myself, like a kind of madness or demonic possession. Even then I put up a heavy resistance, so its not like a nightmare but is a very stressful dream.

I used to have lots of nightmares, but since I got into qigong, taichi, etc. I started noticing how much power and control I had in dreams even when I wasn't aware I was dreaming.
Simply because I started noticing this power, I could use it to take contol in dreams now when someone in my dreams does something against me I just make them explode or whatever I feel like doing.

looking at your hands or turning on switches having a moment of clarity and saying "im dreaming" allows you to control them much better.

to further improve lucid dreaming you need to let your fantasy do the work and act subcouncsiously out on it having no boundaries.

the better you get at it , the more nightmares you will develop and get into very freaky settings.

whenever it´s too much snap out of it by wanting to wake up.

write down conversations in dreams right after waking up and narrow it down before the 10-20minute counter erases your memory of the "other world".
