Since theres a doggo in the OP:
Last winter my dog I had since I was 9 (25 now)
Was reaching his limit. He was a Rottweiler. Huge huge dog. atleast 80 pounds. he had a minor stroke which we though he was kicking the bucket. he just laid on the floor, not moving, weak breathing. I lay there for hours scratching his ears. I only get a little press against the hand as a response. I went up to my room for a bit then went into the kitchen to get a drink. there he was standing. weak and shakey, but standing, I was like "holy fuck man your still not ready to go?" He was an old dog. mild blue eyes and grey haired around the muzzle.

after a night of chilling out with my dad. he seemed like he was getting better, but we couldnt expect much.

The next day he was very weak, his condition didnt change until that night, my friend came over because he was fond of the dog. and wanted to say goodbye.
I was outside having a smoke with my bud, as he said goodbye I walked back inside and went to the bathroom, Started taking a piss.
Then I felt something, brush my leg. i jumped, it startled me, I looked around the bathroom, nothing could of touched me. I remember getting this wierd feeling that something was "different" So i quickly cut my piss and rush to the living room. it felt like i was on autopilot. I just "did" the walking without thinking.
Then as i enter the room my parents are kneeling down on the floor. I knew what was happening now. My pup passed on. And I missed the chance to be near him when he goes.
so I asked my dad "when did he go?" dad replies "about a minute ago"
The time sequence of me going into the bathroom (which has a window to the back yard, where he always liked to be) and feeling that touch on my leg made me wonder if maybe my doggo zipped past me and said goodbye as he ran through the window and out to freedom.
Maybe its all a bunch of shit. But I really hope that was him saying goodbye. I loved that dog more than any girlfriend ive ever had.
