I have this obsession with tornadoes since childhood, but it got a lot worse recently. I dream with tornados every week, and sometimes I think they have some kind of a mystic energy. What do you guys think? Anyone to share knowledge or experiences on that?
>>
Never before have I encountered the idea of tornado fetish. Good job Internet you've amazed me again

Having natural disasters in your dreams can indicate a feeling like you lack control in your life, and that there's a lot of turmoil in your personal life.
>>
I have exactly what you have. I even dream about them too ever since I was a child and even then. I remember that their dream symbolism is quite bad or just means inner turmoil or something around those lines. but hey there's also storm chasers... so maybe they have this too.?

Living in Kansas I'll say that a surprising number of hicks claim to see ghosts during tornadoes. Usually they claim it's some deceased relative or friend telling them to take cover right before the tornado hits or something along those lines. I usually brush it off as old ladies seeking attention.

I kinda had that a little when I was younger, even kinda to this day. I dont wish or wait for tornados, but every time the weather gets real strange or starts hailing I'll keep my eyes up for a funnel cloud. When I was a kid I really wanted to see one, finally did when I was in college, but only a glimpse in the distance. They are pretty strange and people really react around them, so it has that energy at least.

>Oddly too I moved a couple months ago and recently met up with my mom when she was on vacation. When she came back to our house, news vans and shit where everywhere around the house. Our cat was hiding under her bed in board daylight when she came in too. Apparently a Tornado had touched ground 2 blocks away the previous night. Pretty rare, since my hometown is in Massachusetts.

Been around tornadoes all my life 30 years worth of time, and I've never been scared of them, yet knowing what they do, and seen people and places torn to shreds. No reason, but I dont think they are "mystic"

Bump because I am the exact same way. Always been fascinated/scared by them. Dream about them a lot. Never seen one for real.

There is something awe-inspiring about something so large tearing through the land. Like a kaiju come to life.

Actually writing a short story currently that centers around a tornado.
>>
>>18096254
I dream about them too OP. Usually when I have a dream about them there are multiple ones. I've always wanted to see one IRL but haven't yet. The dreams always leave me weirded out.
>>
>>18096254
David wilcock mentioned tonadoes causing some kind of space-time distortion in one of his books. Thats all i got.
>>
>>18098217
>multiple ones
Yep, same here. Every time I encounter them in dreams, there is a weird spookiness to them. There is the expected terror, but also half the time, in-dream, I treat it almost matter-of-factly, keeping my distance from them the way someone keeps their distance from a snake.

My most common recurring dreams since childhood are about tornadoes and the fear about them destroying everything I own (and back when underage, everything my parents saved up for and owned). The tornadoes usually head straight for the house I happen to be living in.

One specific dream I remember clearly, the tornado was right next to my parents' house and I ran out and grabbed it by the very bottom tip. It was oddly 'solid' and I managed to grab it and pull the tornado away from our house and set it on a different course.
>>
I've had dreams of tornadoes since I was a kid too. And generally back then I wouldn't be able to move or would be moving really slowly when one hit. Not too much anymore but occasionally I will, though they're not usually anything like when I was a kid. Sometimes it's me driving or being driven in a car and looking out the window seeing lots of tornadoes in the distance, sometimes destroying stuff. One I had a couple years ago had me at some camp and there was some talent show type thing going on when the sirens went off and everyone scrabbled to get inside and underground.

The fear of them is still there but the actual dreams are different and usually not about being trapped in one.

Watch the 1996 film "twister"
>>
>>18099899
Not him but I was in Walmart today and was tempted to buy "Into the Storm" because of how gloriously ridiculous it looked from the trailer. Anybody see this? Is it worth picking up?

Twister, though, is the shit. It is one of the best nineties action movies.
>>
>>18096254
Are the tornadoes full of sharks?
>>
>>18096254
I've always had an affinity for tornadoes, although in Australia we don't have them really. Occasionally we'll get one but it's a freak event.

We have little tornados called willy willies and water sprouts every now and then.

But man, I loved Twister and The Wizard of Oz and any documentary about idiots chasing tornados.

I think it's just the raw power and general unpredictability of it? Most natural disasters can be basically predicted by the location (coastal towns get fucked by tides, volcanoes crush cities, fault lines earthquake places, whatever) but tornadoes seem to be random (although I concede in the US you have tornado states which is weird to me)

I dunno, they're cool though.

I think they're called dust devils in the US.

>>18100134
Well tornadoes need specific climate conditions to form and some parts of the US just don't have them. Can't tell you specifically but I think the middle of the US, especially the midwest, is the most likely to have those conditions. Tornado alley especially.

The stuff highlighted here isn't everywhere that gets tornadoes but it's the most commonly hit area. Especially for the stronger ones.

Op Here. I've read an article about native american shamans taming tornadoes. They said they could communicate with it and ask it to change course. Also amazed with how much people dream with tornadoes. I've had a strange experience with one in childhood... was riding a bicicle around the city and suddenlly a lot of dust and winds were blocking my vision. I jump off my bike and started to walk but couldn.t see shit. after a while i could enter a forrest and waited there for a minute. when i came back, city was trashed, and then i knew a tornado passed by.
>>
>>18100765
I used to have this old Mysteries and The Unexplained video about tornadoes and the host told a story about how Native Americans used to believe they could banish a tornado by swinging an axe towards it and cutting it in two.
>>
>>18100103
It's an alright film. Plus it has fire twister so that was neat
>>
I've had a few dreams with tornadoes OP, in all of them there were multiple ones and they were quite small in my perspective. I treated the tornadoes like 'people' in my dreams because for some reason, they had minds of their own and their actions were easily interpreted.
Don't get me wrong though, everyone was still scared to shit about them.

Bump, because tornadoes are awesome.
>>
OP again!
I think tornadoes have some kind of archetype simbolism because it's amazing how many people dream about them, actually most people who have these dreams never saw one.
>>
>>18104147
Why can people in this place never spell?
>>
>>18104213
It's not the spelling, it's the message.
>>
>>18099185
I dream of multiple tornadoes too.

They always show up when something bad is going to happen

English is not my original language , sorry.
