atleast 2 different objects were coming down like the pods from warhammer or war of the worlds.

That's most liekly a plane flying away from you at a very shallow viewing angle. There are 4 contrails from the engines and the fuselage is reflecting the sunlight very brightly.
Definitely weird looking but most probably very terrestrial.

contrails can look super bright in the evening, when the sun is already under the horizon for you on groundlevel, but is still shining at the planes way up high.
this is exactly what we see in these pictures
