Could it be that the key factor in evolution is found in cosmic rays?
Perhaps this is more /x/ material, but it could explain sudden changes in consciousness and DNA. I know Carl Sagan talked about cosmic rays and the possibility that they caused DNA mutations.
in 1987 a supernova occurred close enough to the earth that it was visible by the naked eye.

supernovas as well as solar flares produce cosmic rays. The combination of increases in solar flares and the weakening of the Earth's natural cosmic ray shield, the magnetic field, may be evolving our DNA at this very moment.
Perhaps what scientists claim to be 90% junk codons in our DNA (which is a claim I've never seem to understand), is just inactive and needs some sort external stimulation to activate. We are all 'tuned' per say to a particular level of consciousness much like a TV set is tuned to a station. I am not well educated in the wave-particle(wavicle) nature of the universe and can not go into great detail, this is mostly assumption.
This could also explain the lack of transitional fossils being found in relation to theory of evolution.

there's an interesting lecture about exactly this by that david wilcock guy
like the guy talks about space rays correlations to evolution and DNA. i dont remember what it was called doe; saw it some time ago on ufo.tv, when that was still up
