So an innocent google search led me to find a website someone put up when their lover/daughter/whatever joined a cult:
www.robincomehome.com
The cult, in question, is called Cretus. In addition to having a compound in southeast Louisiana, they also have a pretty competent band:
www.followcretus.com
Has anyone ever heard of these guys? There's no public access to their forums, and nothing comes up on Google for these guys, other than a few mentions in some little known blogs.
Also, general cult thread.
Viral marketing or ARG, I'm calling it.

Probably ARG.
On the side note then, can someone suggest a book on the weird cults of new age? I especially want to read about their beginnings, their tricks, maybe bits of psychological analysis.

Good title, thanks. BTW may I ask how do you, english speakers, usually pirate books? My knowledge ends at TPB.
one of my favorite books is a (fictitious) novel by Katherine Dunn titled Geek Love. Its about a family of freaks that run a traveling carnival and the eldest brother starts a cult based around the idea of voluntary amputations. Its great. Do read.
