How do I go about spotting a witch when they're out in public?

The ones who have touched those powers carry themselves a little bit differently. The ones that truly have touched it, that is. I am not talking about backyard garden witches who live in small midwestern towns, those you can spot easily as they have a singular look about them, the true ones have a more subtle thing about them.

I would not recommend it.
You won't find enough Witches to call yourself a hunter, unless you start going after the harmless variety who are just playing at being witches.
Here's the thing, they won't be more danger to you than a normal woman would if you were to get the drop on them, but if they get away, or know in advance that you are coming, you can forget it. You will never get to her.
That being said, some can and will reach out from beyond the grave.
Honestly I would advise against getting into that shitshow.

My mother is not a witch: in fact, she's a very sceptic atheist. She's interested in history, though, and has collected quite a lot of knowledge of my ancestral mothers. They were healers, witches and naturally also midwives, known for relieving curses and illnesses and having foretelling visions and omens. Some of them, or so I have heard, also associated with spirits and the folk below.

I can do something, yes: i have had several omenous dreams (includng a vision of my soulmate ten years before we met), I have had encounters with spirits (friendly) and I can, if you want to call it so, "cast spells". By this I mean bringing luck, blessing homes (not in a christian fashion, though, I'm not a christian) and do all kinds of little things that help around kids, animals and homes. I have heard hat some of my foremothers also casted curses, but I've never tried felt the need to try it out.
