What did the ancients have to say about dreams? Was there anything written in Sanskrit about dreams?
The Egyptians were always big into dreams. They believed the dream world was like a parallel one, a place you went when you slept rather than something that happened in your head. They had specific magic spells that influenced dreams and dreaming, one of which I'm trying to find full details on.
Then Australian Aborigines placed a big emphasis on dreams. Most ancient societies did, but the most extensive written records and spells you'll find on it are Egyptian.
Dreaming is a relatively new phenomenon

New as in Egyptian pharaohs?

What is the current evidence that dreams do exist in the brain? I mean, just because they can detect some brain activity during REM doesn't mean the source of the dream is inside the brain.

>sanskrit
but why

The op is probing. Threads like these appear to be asking a genuine question, but in reality they are probing to see what people know about said subject.

Funny. Thoughts and emotions are things we know exist yet would never be able to prove they do unless the other person has also experienced it.
Kind of like faith.

I'm confused by the distinction. Yes I'm mentally handicapped.

If OP is genuine: be genuine in return
If OP is probing: shitpost
By probing OP is trying to draw certain answers. I do this too occasionally. It let's me know what you know.

So probing means OP should have asked about Sanskrit instead?

No, OP is seeking what general level of knowledge about old sanskrit literature of dreams there are.
