Hello there, I am a Buddhist (Theravada) turned heavily infatuated with all things Gnostic related. Can anyone give me book recs containing information pertaining to Baphomet or just anything Gnostic/Masonic as a whole? I already checked the sticky it wasn't of much use to me. Be careful anon, there is a reason that the Christian Church of the time found it to be heresy. Gnostic studies will appeal to your sense of the unknown and human feeling.
It will draw envy from you at time, greed at others. Read this simply for interest, not belief.

Eliphas Levi is the one who invented the Baphomet, so his books are the only worthwhile ones there. As for the gnostic (no Masonic stuff relating to it), it depends on what you consider it to be.
The Gnostic Gospels are probably your best bet.

I can see why you would say it would engender a sense of unreality. But the christian church found Gnosticism heretical only because its teachings of self knowledge and self empowerment would make it hard for them to centralize power onto themselves.

Hey OP. Not really on topic, but "turned"? Willing to talk more about your experiences with Theravada? Any reasons you may have been "turned off" from it? How long were you at it and how did you get into it?
