Hey /x/ thats my first thread here, so I would like to ask you a question and to share similar experiences if you have. when I was a child I had some nightmares, usually with monsters and stuff, so while dreaming (and always the nightmares were really intense and scary) I remember saying my self "this is a dream wake up" or " you're dreaming dont be afraid" and then I would wake up instantly. This has happened again recently while I was dreaming that some people were chasing me, and it happens pretty much every time I have a nightmare, I just wake myself up. Do you get this as well? Is that normal?

My entire life, any intense dream I am able to squeeze really hard and pop out of a scary dream. These days though I just hit escape in my head and click quit. That wakes me up too.

Anybody had a dream that you're going down some stairs (like Resident Evil's stair cutscene) and then you just fall forward and before you hit the edge of the stair you wake up in a violent jump?
I looked it up what it meant and all it said was "It's your own body that is thinking that you're dead and trying to wake you up."
