The first is about the relationship among genetics, behavior, and culture and how "evil" is a by-product nature. A strategy for creation that is ultimately necessary.
Global Brain is a scientific look a memes. Not silly internet memes but actual memes. Real memes are essentially ideas that pass through a species by way if global neural nets, an almost psychic (lack of a better word) internet all creatures are connected to. Basically memes are to ideas and concepts as genes are to dna.

How does one read horror books? I've read 3 of the first line and a few from King's novels.
It's not like they scare me or make me feel disturbed.
>>17974676
I understand all the other (you)s I'm getting, but this, I don't get it. Who said anything about trees?
Would anyone be interested in a LHP reading list?

Books are printed on paper made from trees. It's a joke you simpleton.

Why is Foucault's Pendulum on there? He's made it very clear he wrote that book to make fun of people that take occultism way too seriously.
>>17974812
>thinks people should only read books that agree with their worldview
>>17974829
No I don't, in fact I agree with you that you should definitely read shit that challenges your views. It just seems weird to include on the list considering it's an actual novel and everything.
>>17974812
>He's made it very clear he wrote that book to make fun of people that take occultism way too seriously.
Yeah, but it's an important lesson. Occultists are prone to manias and delusions, some of them dangerous. Thelema seems to breed neo-feudalists for example, not in great numbers, but enough to give one pause. If they've carefully studied and engaged Crowley's material, they seem somewhat more likely to harbor extremist ideals.

But there is some good and suggestive literature, like Gibson's, Count Zero, or Zelazny's Amber series. There are doubtless others. Phillip K Dick, probably. For my generation, for sure, I'd include Wilson and Shea's, Illuminatus! trilogy.
