It's a 55 acre property. An eccentric rich guy wanted to build it as an industrial amusement park, but died on location before it could be completed.

The park features large towers, bridges (too decrepit to use), castles, and a sprawling underground tunnel complex.

The founder died when the bulldozer he was in flipped down a hill.

North St Louis county is the where the worst neighborhoods are in general. Ferguson is actually not that bad, definitely not the worst. Best advice, you should be very careful at night in STL, regardless of where you are. People get shot in Forest Park and in the Central West End (nice areas) too, usually at night. Hell people get shot on the interstate sometimes. I stay out of the city at night.
Its such a bummer Cementland will never be finished. The City Museum, designed by the same guy is amazing. Also, FYI, his widow is pushing for this case to reopened as a murder investigation. There are some sketchy details in regards to his injuries, gate locks etc. So, could be spooky as well as dangerous. Watch out for homeless people!
